The Commanding Officer, the 66 Artillery Regiment in Ho, Lieutenant Colonel Edward Sarpong Appiah, has assured Ghanaians that the military will not relent in its efforts to protect the 1992 Constitution. He said the military was conscious of its role to defend the Constitution at all times and would not shy away from that responsibility, adding that the military would resist any attempt by any person or group of persons to overthrow the Constitution. “On behalf of the Military High Command, we will defend the 1992 Constitution because it is our duty and core mandate, and also we will resist any attempt by any individual or group of persons to overthrow the Constitution of Ghana,” he stated.
