impact. police say it began shortly after 8:00 sunday night the driver, 30-year-old keith jeffers of jersey city was allegedly speeding barreling down ocean avenue near myrtle avenue, slamming into the parked cars eventually rear ending the silver car, witnesses say the event spun out of control, pushed the car into this drive way the officer right in this path. >> we heard a big boom like a canon went off, there was a bunch of cars smashed up and people laying all over the ground. >> the car plowing right into the officer who was standing on the sidewalk. >> she was screaming and crying and stuff. >> she was actually pinned between the cars. >> she was pinned between the cars then it pulled out a little bit. >> holding a leg, like three other people. investigators say two people and two pedestrian all hurt witnesses say jeffers tried bailing from the scene but quickly stopped. the people from the store across the street tried to apprehend him. police say the driver keith jeffers was arrested at the scene, two others who were inside that van with him were told we're also injured, taken to an area hospital but refused treatment. reporting in jersey city, cbs2 news. the others injured were treated at the hospital and the driver caused four counts of assault, knowingly leaving the scene and driving while intoxicated. a man under arrest for allegedly attacking a woman in her west village apartment. this is video of the suspect, he is identified as 35-year-old jeffrey joseph from staten island, the 43-year-old says the man snuck into her apartment and grabbed her from behind as she slept. happened at 5 a.m. last thursday on hudson street and west 10th street. a retrial in the murder case is set for february, pedro hernandez is accused in the kidnapping and killing of 6- year-old pates. a judge scheduled jury select to standard the 22nd. the first ended in mistrial after the jury deadlocked a hold out jury refused to convict hernandez of the murder. to a developing story a state of emergency issued in california today 25 wildfires continue to burn across the state the fires destroyed 60,000 acres and can be seen from this satellite image in space. chris martinez reports from lake port california. the rocky wildfire northwest of sacramento exploded over the weekend and now covers about 60,000 acres. thousands of homes are in its path and the area is under a mandatory evacuation. >> i couldn't get back if i wanted to, and with the fire danger i'm not sure i want to. richard is concerned about two of the three cats forced to leave them
