We could tell there were so many more eagles fans than pats. It was really like a game at the link. You were a little confused by the section numbers. Wait, wait, suspect this a home game . Thats exactly what it felt like. The song would break out. Security had to go, guys. We just laughed. They clearly dont know what philadelphia is about. Theyre going to have to take this in stride. They were probably told by management dont provoke them but just be sure it was funny. Early sunday morning we had fans here singing. That was just so fun. So lets talk about the joy, the joy that we saw on jake elliotts girlfriend face. We spent time yesterday at a flag Football Game for charity. She was very confident. Just like so many fans, just like everyone we had talked to earlier this week. She was calm. She looked pretty calm. You have to understand the family dynamics. Hes married to his wife actually i think over 20 years. Certainly since hes been in the nfl as a player and as a coach. And they have three sons. Two are off to college. They came home this weekend. Here rather, not home. They came here for the super bowl. She said pause their colleges wouldnt let them leave early. They had classes to attend. They just got in yesterday. Dougs mother is a widow. His mother terry a widow a couple of years ago. When doug got the job here in 2016 his father gordie died that year. It was amazing experience for him to have his mother in her mid to late 70s. Just having his family around. We got a chance to visit with her yesterday a little bit. Right after the game, jeannie came right up to us. So heres what happened. Jeannie, come here. Give me a hug. Hes wonted in the worst way to bring to the fan base a title. Thats all that mattered tonight when we were talking. He said i wanted to bring home a championship for the great estefan base on this planet. We have heard that from a lot of players. Jeannie said we got this. She said that to us saturday. She said that to us today. Thats something you started to hear from some of the players earlier this week, we he got this. Especially the defensive players. We would bump into them and said how do you feel and they would look at me and say, vi, we got this. It was clear it was something they were talking about amongst themselves. We got this. We got this. It was fascinating to see how it all unfolded. You were looking at the monitor. I thought the score would be 3417. I thought just looking at the two teams and analyzing and watching football as i do and watching what these teams do, there were some matchup problems the patriots would have against the eagles with different groupings on offense. It would be a huge matchup problem. It was a great game. Back and forth as you would expect. If youre going to beat the champion, youre going to knock the champion out. Thats what they did tonight. Drew, you were showing us a little earlier this morning some of the damage you have been finding not too far from city hall, right . Reporter yeah. Some fans are still chanting, running around, yelling. We wanted to chat with friends up here. Unfortunately, some guys knocked over all the potted plants all the way down broad street here. They were telling us thats not what represents eagles fans on the whole because eagles fans came by and righted every single one of these. That is the sentiment we are seei seeing. They have been hard at work tonight. They are making their way down side streets. There was quite a bit of trash on this street as well. They want to try to get as many as they can cleaned up for the morning commute. Eagles fans came up, realized the people were jerks, and took a hand at cleaning some of that up. That is the spirit we have seen throughout the whole city. Theres been so much joy, so much fun. A great little restaurant where we were at, they served a late night dinner at 2 00 this morning. So many people wanting to help each other out. We have been loving it out here for the most part. That guy is so pumped up. Im sure his neighbors dont mind. Its 4 00 in the morning. Not dont. We left the area where we were watching the Football Game. We were on broad street. We were watching tv right through a window. And the police were some of the happiest people out there, jumping up and down. They were just like everybody else. They were working hard for hours trying to make sure people were celebrating safely and that nobody was in danger throughout this night. They were trying to get people to go home and go to sleep towards the end. But they were out there celebrating as well. Yeah. It was a lot of work up and down broad street. They were effective at that they did. They had a game plan. They made it happen tonight. Its a good point to mention something drew said. The majority of the eagles fans did not knock things over, did not break things. The spirit we saw from the fans who came and helped to pick things up. You and i are both philly area natives. I grew up right outside the city. You grew up in the city. Innercity. Just celebrating, having a good time. Just like these guys. Skyforce 10 of center city, over city hall really at the height of the celebrations. And its interesting because i was watching our coverage just after the game, as we switched over to cozy. You got a little bit of a trickle. Then it was the flood from north philly, the flood from south philly. This is where people wanted to be. They came from all over the city to be there. To see how many people there are for this celebration. Mostly under control. It is is symbolic. This is why people flooded broad street around city hall.
