Well show you that mess right now. Breaking in northeast philadelphia, an eightinch main broke, causing water to pour into the street. This is minden off academy road. 125 homes are without water because of the break. Crews will be out later to start repairs. Nbc10s Pamela Osborne is on her way to the scene. As we get more information, well keep you updated. The teenage suspect in a family massacre over the weekend will now face a new jersey judge today. Investigators say the 16yearold shot and killed his parents, his sister, and a family friend inside his parents long branch home. Law enforcement officials believe the incident was a domestic situation. We are learning more about the local College Student discovered at that murder scene. Yeah, were also learning more Details Behind the new years killing. Stockton University Freshman brittany cologi was the sister of the young man that was murdered. The gun used in the killings was legally registered to someone in the family. Investigators say there was no way anyone outside the family could have seen this coming. This is a real isolated firsttime incident. We dont have any history of calls to the home. Just opened fire on them. I dont know why. I dont know why. The 16yearold is being tried as an adult. Multiple neighbors say the young man had special needs. A student and family with ties to Montgomery County are among the people who died in a sightseeing tour that ended in tragedy in costa rica. The death of penn freshman William Steinberg has left students on campus in shock. The student body posted a statement yesterday calling steinberg a promising scholar and noting that a lot of students knew steinberg quite well. William was traveling with his family who also died in the horrific crash. The housekeeper was emotional talking about the family she served for a lifetime. Intelligent, smart. Beautiful kid. Firefighters in Montgomery County spent about an hour battling this house fire in abington. No one was hurt there. There is no cause that we know of yet. Dozens of people looked old man winter in the face and ran into a frigid Atlantic Ocean yesterday for the 27th annual polar bear plunge. Atlantic citys event went off without a hitch while other shore towns postponed or canceled events because of the extreme cold. And not to be outdone, brave souls took one unfrozen section of the susquehanna river for the annual penguin plunge. Organizers had to use chainsaws to cut through the ice there before the plunge could happen. People actually went into the water after that. The event raises money for the humane society.
