Its been a few years since weve really gotten these bitter temperatures. And i just looked up the record. Yesterday before midnight, we actually hit the coldest december temperature that we have seen since 2004. We were down around 11 degrees, that is for december, not january, but that is pretty cold. 6 in allentown, 9 in center c y city. Feels like 20 below in mt. Pocono. Atlantic city, 7 below. Millville at 3 below and tren tn at 4 below. And today well be looking pretty much not snow totals. Ignore that. Well be looking at the upper teens with sunshine and feels like between 0 and 10. And crews are still in the process of clearing that accident scene on the boulevard. Take a look, this is a live picture of what is left of that accident. There were multiple vehicles involved here. Even a vehicle that was overturned. It looks like they have gotten that out of the way and trying to clear the remainder of this. Lets take a look at the information in the next graphic here. This is the roosevelt boulevard, right lane is getting by. This is northbound between the schuylkill expressway around roberts avenue is where this is all happening. But other than this crash, all the majors are looking good. So westbound on the schuylkill expressway, they had it shut down approaching the departments. That has cleared. But eastbound the offramp is still closed right now approaching that accident. And were following breaking news this morning at the jersey shore where four family members are dead and a 16yearold boy is in custody for their killings. Police were called to a house on wall streetover night. Weve learned the 16yearold boy uses an Assault Rifle to kill his mother and grandmother and two other family members. Were still working to find out the relationship of the other victims. No word yet on what sparked that violence. And the snhow will go on. New years day tradition in philadelphia will happen as planned. Matt delucia is live on broad street along the parade route where the mummers will march. And we can see you are bundled up. How are the preparing for this cold . Reporter if they are smart, they will have all the layers that they can possibly put on, a lot wear those costumes that they spend a lot of time preparing. And at least the strutting will keep them a little bit warm. But they do have a long day lady of them. And right behind me, this is where it will all begin right here by 16th and market by city hall. And just over there behind that police car and those barricades, you can see some of the floats there are getting ready for on the big show that begins at 9 00 this morning. And yes, it is a very, very cold morning. Windchills are very low. And if you will be out here watching it, you have to be careful. If you wiluyou will be particii you have to take those precautions. We talked with some of the folks about the decision over the weekend to continue on with the mummers parade as scheduled. There was a thought that it could possibly be post possiblied, but that is not the case. It will go on today. And here are those folks responding to that. We just wanted to make sure that it will be a safe day for the members and fans watching. So we were hoping to postpone it for more favorable climate day, but the vote went in fair of having the parade on new years. And were ready to go. It will be cold, windy, but well deal with it. Reporter yes, of course it is cold, we kind of expect it, but this is really a special kind of cold. So be sure to have the hat, gloves, hand warmers, whatever you can. We do understand that the organizers are providing in some warming tents for those participating in the mummers parade. But again, this will be a long day ahead, so if you are coming out to watch it, make sure that you have options available where you can go inside and bring those things that can warm you up pretty quickly. New this morning, in the lehigh valley, an ambulance responding to a domestic fight ends up crushed by an suv trying to escape the scene in that was this bethlehem. Nobody was hurt, but both vehicles were seriously damaged. Happening today, Atlantic City gets a new mayor. Frank gilliam jr. Will take the oath at noon.
