It was going more than double the speed limit when it crashed. The derailment happened in washington state, south of seattle outside tacoma during the busy morning rush. The ntsb says the data recorded shows the train was going 80 Miles Per Hour in a 30 mileperhour zone. The highspeed train dove off the overpass and landed on the busy interstate. Three people are dead, and dozens injured. First responders, military personnel from a nearby base, and commuters all worked together to rescue riders who were trapped in and on train cars. She did have surgery yesterday, and another is scheduled for tomorrow. This is not the first time Something Like this has happened. Even recently, a few weeks ago, a few blocks away from where we are at 11th and spruce, 24yearold Emily Fredericks died after she was hit by a garbage truck while riding her bike. The city announced more safety measures. These accidents have riders and their families demanding that more be done for safety. You dont have to widen the roads or do anything else. Just change the way theyre laid out. Put the parked cars in the middle, the bikes and the traveler lanes separate from each other. At the jersey shore, a woman is dead after falling into the street just as a car was driving by. Investigators tell us two women were walking near the corner of aloe street and new orleans avenue in galloway last night. Police dont know how or why, but one fell into the street. A car hit both women, killing one, sending the other to the hospital. The survivor is expected to be okay. 5 05. Today a pastor in Burlington County who faces child sex Assault Charges will go before a judge for a detention hearing. Harry thomas is accused of sexually attacking four children over 16 years. Thomas public defender entered a not guilty plea on numerous counts of molestation and exposur exposure. Facing Sexual Misconduct allegations, daylin leach says he will step back from his campaign for a congressional seat. Leach was a top candidate in a crowded democratic primary to take on republican incumbent pat meehan. Leach is facing accusations of acting inappropriately toward female employees and campaign aides.
