As promised all of us pretty much stayed in the teens to low 20s today. Earlier today we were below zero in mount pocono for the feelslike temperature. 17, what it feels like in philly right now. Vineland, 17. Atlantic city at 20. The numbers will level out as we go throughout the night. The wind, which plays a big factor in a feelslike temperature, are starting to weaken. Earlier today gusts were consistently between 30 and 40 Miles Per Hour. Gusts are not reporting in any locations except for wildwood at just 22 miles an hour. It will be cold enough so that any flakes that do fall will stick to the ground. First off, ill say no snow day, kids. There will be snow on the ground when you wake up in the morning. Doppler radar is not picking up any snow in philadelphia, the Lehigh Valley, south jersey or delaware, but theyve seen snow in pennsylvania. Theyve seen it in pittsburgh. Its headed towards williamsport and harrisburg. Further west we are looking at another band of snow unwinding from the area of low pressure moving through indiana and into ohio. Well see several hours of snow falling tonight. Lets walk you through the timing for some of that. The winds still coming in out of the southwest ahead of this. So thats good news. Its keeping us at least in the low 30s and upper 20s at this point. Here is when we are expecting to see the snow move into the area. Between 8 00 and 9 00 tonight it will cover the entire area by 10 00 to 11 00 tonight. It should be out of the area by the morning commute with just flurries lingering behind. How much are we talking about . Its not a great deal. Here is the rapid precision forecast model, the inhouse model here at nbc10. It shows just over an inch in philadelphia, maybe a dusting to less than an inch in places like ra hore hoebet beach. We could see 1 to 2 inches with isolated amounts exceeding 2 to 3 inches. It will come down in probably a fourhour period overnight tonight. Should not affect your morning commute. If youre out and about tonight, use caution. Reporter even a deadly hit and run crash is not surprising because witnesses say collisions are common at this intersection. Neighbors and Business Owners say they want to make changes to make them feel safer. A normally busy intersection was anything but overnight as a hitandrun was caught on camera. Video appears to show a driver run a stop sign on diston street before ramming into a car. The impact threw a passenger out of the car that was hit. He later died. We hate this intersection. We just keep witnessing many Car Accidents that happen in this intersection. Reporter priscilla and her family heard the wreck from their home. She and other neighbors say the intersection is a highrisk area. I almost was hit a couple of days ago. Reporter samantha is one of several in the neighborhood who want to make the intersection safer. We went to get answers from Philadelphia City councilman Bobby Heenans office. A spokesman from his office said a request must be put into the city to start the process. Neighbors hope it can happen soon. What would you like to see, if anything, as a changeover . Another concern witnesses and neighbors say is that a yield sign in the pedestrian crosswalk, they say some drivers ignore that. We do see a lot of traffic out here. Searching for a cause. Investigators trying to figure out what sparked the deadly hire in Montgomery County this morning. Two children were killed. 11yearold bryan and 6yearold Parker Lukens found in an upstairs bedroom at their home in schwenksville. The boys parents and sisters made it out but they are injured. The father is a deputy with the sheriffs department. Our heart goes out to them. It just pours out. You know, we cant imagine what its like losing one child, let alone two. Detectives are now sifting through the ashes there to find out the cause of the fire. Developing tonight, a deep red state turns blue. Democrat doug jones is the projected the winner of the Alabama Senate race beating republican roy moore. Jones is the first democrat voted into the state since 1992. A firefighter in san diego is getting a lot of attention on social media involving a simple message he left behind for a couple forced to leave their homes due to the flames from the lilac wildfire.
