Alabama has gotten 10 inches so far. Highlands North Carolina has more than a foot. 15 inches. And that could number rise. Now that storm is moving up the east coast. The northeast preparing for anything between a dusting to a half foot of snow depending on where you are. Dylan tracking all of it. Going to get pretty bad in some places. It is. And its the first snow of the season. This is the first major snowstorm of the season. As you pointed out, it is going to be a big one. A 2,000 mile stretch blanketing areas where people arent used to seeing much, if any, of the white stuff. People living in the south waking up to an unusual sight. Snow. The winter storm began way south. This traffic jam was in mexico. Texas was next to get hit. You hit that patch of ice and man, youre in a wreck. A 15car pileup in san antonio. A record 5 inches of snow in college station. We have snow in houston. Football star j. J. Watt couldnt get enough of the unusual conditions. This is awesome. 180,000 customers initially lost power as record amounts of snow fell in mississippi and louisiana. Schools and businesses closed early in atlanta. Delta canceled 625 flights at its Hartsfield Jackson hub. Little early for us here in georgia, but, you know, well get through it. This morning the northeast bracing for the seasons first snowstorm. But theres more than one way to look at the weather. I love the snow. Especially around christmas. And it is still snowing in atlanta right now. Areas back through texas, louisiana, alabama, mississippi, the snow is just about done there. We are going to see this develop into an eastern system and because of that we do have winter storm warnings up and down the east coast. 71 Million People will still be impacted and also keep in mind even though the snow wont a accumulate on the roads because its been so mild lately, we are still going to see dangerous conditions on the overpasses. They freeze on both sides. We are going to have to deal with this storm all day long. We are looking at as much as 2 to 4 inches in a wide stretch with isolated amounts closer to 6 inches especially along that rain snow line. That would be right along the coast. Eastern long island could see close to 6 inches of snow. Its like we havent had any kind of taste of winter and all of a sudden were feeling it 2,000 miles across the country. When you Start Talking about a few inches in carolina, thats enough to cripple major cities. Now to a major story out west. Those relentless wildfires showing no signs of letting up anytime soon. Thousands of firefighters are working around the clock. Some not taking a break since the wildfires began. Some losing their own homes in the process. Firefighters trying to take advantage of calm winds before they pick up once again today. And this morning the fires have turned deadly. Kristen is in hard hit ventura. Good morning. Firefighters know their window with help from Mother Nature is closing fast. Overnight some progress on the ground. Its not as dire as it looked a few nights ago. The Moore Campaign tells nbc it actively encouraged its supporters to attend. I believe hes a good christian man and hes still denying everything that hes been accused of. Beverly young nelson who first came forward publicly three weeks ago slammed President Trump for endorsing moore. I guess we as women dont matter because we are not part of the old boys club. She alleges moore assaulted her when she was 16 and had signed her yearbook, but Moores Campaign insists its a forgery since nelson now admits she wrote her own notes beneath the signature. Based on my conversations with many voters, you get the sense that this race is very tight because you have suburban republicans who are skittish about the candidacy of roy moore. There are still some burdens. Some voters on the conservative side say they cant come over the line. From twitter to rallies, President Trump clearly all in on roy moore. How much do you think that is going to help him on tuesday . The president s support and how is trumps support playing outside alabama . Its an important factor. Voters who i spoke with over the past four days say they may not love roy moore, but they believe in President Trumps agenda. And to have that kind of full throated support from the president just a few miles from the state over in pensacola, that refs up the trump base just as doug jones is trying to rev up the Democratic Base this weekend. You saw in his speech in pensacola last night he was putting himself forward as someone who would rock washington, d. C. And he cast roy moore as an ally. So if roy moore comes to washington, he will be with President Trump standing there perhaps against the republican establishment at times, but it is those outsiders in the gop who now have power.
