New jersey warming up to the upper 50s this afternoon, but still breezy all day long so youll feel that chill in the air. Ill break the forecast down hour by hour to show you how soon those clouds will move out and how long youll need that heavy coat. But pamela has your first alert traffic. And were still following that accident on 95 southbound right at wood haven road. This is a live picture of the scene there. Take a look. You can see the offramp that leads to 95 is blocked because of this overturned tractor aitalking about the last couplef hours. You can see crews are in the process of unloading some of the stuff that was in that truck off of that vehicle. Some of it spilled out on to the roadway there. All that stuff is going to have to be cleared before they can upright that truck and move it out of the way for you. I want to give you another look approaching that accident. Whats going on there. You can see drivers beginning to turn around which i wouldnt recommend that you do because theyre having trouble getting that way. Now, the ramp to 95 is actually blocked there, but you still can kind of squeeze around there, so again, i wouldnt recommend turning around the going the opposite way of traffic there. Well keep our eye on that for you. We want to give you an alternate. Bristol park to academy road will also get you there. Also another trouble spot, this one on the roosevelt boulevard southbound between ron street and cotman avenue. There are three lanes closed because of an accident earlier this morning. So a busy morning. Well keep you updated. New overnight in philadelphia, a man in his 20s is in serious condition after slamming his car into a tree on the roosevelt boulevard. The impact was so hard the front tires flew off the vehicle and down the street. The crash isff outer lanes heading to pil if phil on the boulevard. No word on when the scene could be clear. L bus clipped cars along a narrow street in philadelphia neighborhood. The bus is caught outside mirrors. Neighbors say that theyve experienced this sort of thing before. Reporter right. Neighbors and people who live around here have told us that theyve had mirrors knocked off their vehicles as well in recent months but were here where this all happened yesterday morning and it can be a little bit tight. We have seen some close calls even this morning as cars were going in both directions here. It gets a little bit narrow, but take a look at the video that people are talking about this morning. He hit another car. Reporter yeah, a driver following the school bus captured the incident on a dash cam. This was yesterday morning around this time. A School Bus Driving down the street taking out what appears to be a mirror of a parked car. He sideswiped another parked car and the person following the parked car left a note with a link to the video so the owners could file the police report. He says that vehicle now has a missing mirror and two flat tires. It tends to be a really nice neighborhood so i was concerned that someone had done that and they hadnt stopped especially a school bus. Reporter as of right now no word if that bus driver has been cited but the video did pick up a license plate number and that should help police with that t investigation. Several neighbors told us that two of her roommates have had mirrors knocked off both happening in the last few months. What happened that left two young men riddled with bullets last night, the shooting happened on north 52nd street. When Police Arrived at the scene around 7 00 they found the 17yearold with multiple gunshot wounds. At last check that teen was in critical condition. Another 19yearold showed up at a hospital around that same time with multiple bullet shots in the back. And a prowler caught on camera. We talked to the victim. Im really disgusted and very upset and frightened that this could happen. This is what was happening outside along green lane as she was in the bathroom. Her home Surveillance System picked up the motion and when they reviewed the video, they saw a man peering through the window. The couple has installed privacy screens at their windows. They also showed the video to their neighbors to make sure theyre on alert. And just one of the indentsrom what Police Believe is a string of armed robberies. You can see in this video, one man barges in and puts a knife to the employees neck. Another one grabs someone as they open a cash register. Investigators say this is one of six armed holdups across three counties. 6 06 right now. Philadelphia native will remain behind bars. A Pennsylvania Appeals Court once again rejected the rappers bail request. They filed their appeal afz a philadelphia judge denied a similar request. That judge called him a danger to the community. Mill was sentenced to 2 to 4 years in prison for repeated probation violations. A day of remembrance. Today we mark the 76th anniversary of the japanese bombing of pearl harbor that pushed the u. S. It was 76 years ago today that the japanese launched that surprise attack on pearl harbor in hawaii. There were more than 2,400 casualties. Sailors, marines and soldiers all killed and more than 1,000 wounded. Some of those wounds severely. Later this morning here at the battleship new jersey, they will remember the anniversary of the attack on pearl harbor and celebrate the 76th anniversary of the uss new jersey. At approximately 9 00 this morning a squadron of propeller planes will fly over the battleship as part of the commemoration semowny. And battleship will cast a wreath on the delaware to remember those killed 76 years ago today. Back here live now, the attack on pearl harbor of course led the u. S. Just above freezing now and look at the 20s for elt roy and mill ford right at 32 degrees. New hope is down to 29 degrees to start with. Fort washington even colder at 26. A little bit of a breeze right now, but t winds will be increasing during the day. That westerly wind, that drying wind force but also a chilly one so its really never going to feel warm during the day. The temperatures will climb into the middle 40s to this afternoon. W help you get around it. 95 is a crazy busy spot so it just makes i seem like its going to be a mess. It looks like this accident scene is going to be there for a little while. Theyre in the process of unloading the stuffer off of that truck to try to get it towed and out of the area, but in the meantime you can see the slowdown thats taking place. Earlier when we were talking about this we saw some cars turning around and trying to go the opposite direction on southbound wood haven road. Dont do that at all. The alternate is going to be bristol pike to academy road. Thats the best way to get around this accident right now. Also, this just came in from mass transit. The septa rails are running about 10 minut late because of reported slippery conditions there. Well tell you about an accident on the boulevard when i come back. Dragged and dropped. The shoplifters shown dragging a Security Guard who tried to stop them. Also later, surging wildfires. Fire cre fear it could send the situation over the edge in southern california. Take a look at new video of suspected mall shoplifters dragging a Security Guard as he tried to recover merchandise from their fleeing suv. The guard from a north jersey mall con fronted the women last week after he heard they may have stolen some items. The women took off with the guard clinging to the door. He suffered a concussion from that. Police are searching for the three women. And a project that could revitalize Montgomery County could kick off today. Theyll kick off the extension project. This project is the largest local Infrastructure Project in pennsylvania. It wl provide improved exposure to hoping to sparring growth in the region. Pamela brings us up to speed on 95. Crews he things blocked off here. This is something weve been talking about for the past two hours. I imagine its still going to be there for a little while. We also saw some cars a little bit earlier this morning turning around and driving the opposite way. Definitely wouldnt recommend doing that. Here is how you get around it. You can go to academy road and that will get you by that accident pretty safely there. Also a look at the pennsylvania turnpike. We had an accident that came in right at the toll plaza. Thats going to be the southbound side. Average speeds on the turnpike in the 60s. Its about a quarter after 6 00 right now. The winds are stronger during the day, but at this hour it doesnt take much to make it feel colder. Feels like freezing right now in south jersey, but look at lmington, north east philadelphia, low 40s and teens. We will see sunshine today. Warms to 48 this afternoon, but the wind will be stronger later today so youll feel that chill colder heading into the weekend. Friday, saturday, sunday and into next week the temperatures will be below normal for this i time of year. Theres no wet weather with these clouds but just jaufz sho offshore, theres a chance later on saturday that we could see some rain, possibly some snow flakes. Could lead to a dusting at the shore, but theres also a pretty good chance that system will stay offshore and will stay dry this weekend. But there is that chance for saturday. Later on in new jersey especially along the coast. So it may be some rain drops to start with ending with some snow flakes but it should stay light and then by sunday it will be out of here. Even sunny, nice and sunny, but even colder for sunday. 39 degrees the high temperature. Its the jersey shore that will peak in the low 40s on sunday afternoon. There are some colder temperatures next week and also a better chance of seeing some snow flakes in the the 10day when imr. Honoring his service. It now feels like its 30 degrees in philadelphia and wilmington, look at the Lehigh Valley, the cold weather sweeping into new jersey and delaware too so definitely have to bundle up this morning. 38 degrees in philadelphia. And in delaware, 36 degrees but factor in that 7mileperhour wind and it feels like 30 degrees right now and the wind will be increasing by 11 00. 44 degrees. It will feel like its in the upper 30s so a chilly, but sunny day ahead. The afternoon temperatures will climb into the 40s. Typical levels for december. 47 in new jersey. 48 in philadelphia and delaware. You can see the truck actually spilled over and some of its items are out on to the roadway so right now crews are in the process of unloading that tractor so they can upright it and in the meantime its causing quite a bit of delay. This is wood haven road here. You can see traffic kind of piling up as they try to bypass this accident because again, that closure, its happening southbound 95 right at wood haven road. Heres your alternate. You can take bristol pike to academy road. But ill show you all the delays that are happening as a result of that accident. Also watching another accident that happened earlier this morning. This is on the roosevelt boulevard southbound between ron street and cottman avenue. These lanes were closed as crews tried to get some of that debris out of the roadway. Really quickly i want to show you another issue. Septa is running ten minutes behind because of slippery conditions and out in new jersey, train 701 is running ten minutes late because of operational issues. Breaking right now, extreme fire danger. Crews fear powerful winds could whip up wildfires that have already devastated portions of southern california. Theyve forced tens off thousands of people to evacuate the area.
