amazon founder jeff bezos reaches a new money milestone topping $100 billion. how black friday helped him get there. saturday november 25th, 2017. good morning you to. welcome back. a fantastic crowd out here on the plaza with us. enjoying the thanksgiving day weekend. thank you so much. craig melvin alongside kristen welker andreyer. you guys are a lively bunch. >> small business saturday. what a great crowd this is. we have got a lot to get to this morning in our first half hour. let's begin with today's news. >> reporter: good morning, everyone. i'm bill neely in cairo egypt where the death toll attack on a mosque is now 325 including seven children. it is a day of mourning here but also of military response. warplanes attacking what are described as terrorist targets. gunfire in the mosque gun massacre without mercy. and mayhem after egypt's deadliest terror attack. even ambulances targeted outside. inside more than 300 people dead. murdered as they prayed. nearly all were men, but there were dozens of children among the dead and injured. more than 100 wounded. hundreds more traumatized. this morning relatives took bodies away for a burial. entire families were killed after militants singled out the mosque in a town 200 miles from cairo. a suicide bomber detonating inside the mosque. then gunmen perhaps dozens in four off-road vehicles opening fire inside and out on worshippers. even by the deadly standards of the middle east this was a ruthless attack. >> islamic militants have been conducting attacks against egyptian security outposts but an attack against a mosque really crosses a new threshold. >> reporter: the mosque is in a province now a virtual war zone which isis is trying to take take over. two years ago isis brought down a russian bound plane using a bomb in a soda can killing 234. this year isis has attacked dozens of christians including inside a church. attacks egypt security forces seem unable to stop. president trump condemned the horrible and cowardly terrorist attack. egypt's president sisi says it makes him more determined to confront terrorism. and he sent in his bombers. warplanes destroying vehicles said to have been used in the attack. and bombing what the military claim are terrorists in mountain hideouts. in egypt today deep shock at the massacre of so many civilians at worship inside a holy place by islamist gun men. to part in that attim responsibility formally but no one is in doubt that isis did this. >> president trump is spending his mar-a-lago estate in flri about the mosque attack and he also made some news when he tweeted that "time magazine" was considering him for person of the year. overnight "time" denied that. kelly o'donnell is live in west palm beach with the very latest. good morning to you kelly. >> reporter: good morning, kristin. from the administration we see two distinct styles in responding to the tragedy. the white house put out an official readout that reflects the more diplomatic tone of the president's call referring to shared interests and concern about terrorism. then you look at the president's twitter feed where his more brash take comes out where he talked about yes condemning the attack but also saying that this is an opportunity to sell his border wall his travel banitiative. u.s. domestic concerns that he promote. now, turning to the president's ability to whip up a feud with the media as you pointed out kristin, he talked about "time magazine" claimed on twitter he'd been contacted person of the year. said t h that howeve out and saying the president isocess and it will be secret their choicer 6th. the irony of course is that some of his clubs he's had kind of like a novelty item. not the thing. >> kelly, thank you for that. at some other headlines including a new standoff with president trump that has washington wondering who's in charge of the consumer protection agency. the agency's director stepped down friday and dep over. but the white house current budget director mick mulvaney would be serving as the acting director. mulvaney once called that agency a sad sick joke. both sides say the law gives them the right to make the appointmno n in morning. a huge upset in college football ended the university of miami's perfect season and quite possibly knocked them out of the playoffs. the surprising pitt panthers beat the hurricanes friday. surely the highlight of the losing season for miami it was their first loss since october of last year. they still have an outside shot at the playoffs but now they'll have to beat defending national champs clemson just to be considered. tough loss. >> clemson's got south carolina today. we'll see. >> tough match? really just a spotty clouds currently to track. to our west we do have a cloud front. that's bringing in extra clouds and even some showers in parts of pennsylvania. it will move through dry and will not affect temperatures today. we're going to go from 40s this morning to the upper 50s, near 60 today. then comes the drop into the tonight. and we really don't warm up much at all tomorrow. we want 9-year-old pit bull mix looking for a good family. >> he's a great guy. as you said he's about 9 year old, but he's in amazing shape. our veterinarians did blood work on him and everything. he's in cuddle and still has a lot of energy. and interestingly enough he loves tires, car tires. he loves to chew on them. he's a chewer. and he also just kind of plays with them. we have one in our dog play the project is going up. the original budget was around $16.5 million. now it's be around $26 million. that includes the cost of construction and design feeze. the park has been under renovation since february 2016. neighbors hit the neighborhood for a good cause last night. neighbors hosted this charity basketball game in east german town philadelphia. the goal was to raise awareness for suicide prevention and anti-gun violence efforts. today you can shed thanksgiving day calories. the turkey burn step-a-thon will be held at the west philly ymca at noon. it races money to provide financial assistance to families who need it the most. and model train lovers can catch an awesome display and get something delicious to eat at the market. this year it's a 500 square foot model railroad a few clouds out there. but mostly clear skies. the sun coming through. we're going to climb pretty high today, but we do have some changes interest the second half of our weekend. >> good morning, krystal. >> yeah good morning, guise. it is just a beautiful picture outside. you see that blue sky over head. you might notice as we get out, visibility is 7 miles. no worries while you're driving. it feels like 38. that's because those winds are just a smidge at 7 miles an hour, but the southwest wind flow. when you have southwest winds, it's pumping in warmer air. radar and satellite view, really just a spotty clouds currently to track. to our west we do have a cloud front. that's bringing in extra clouds and even some showers in parts of pennsylvania. it will move through dry and will not affect temperatures today. we're going to go from 40s this morning to the upper 50s, near 60 today. then comes the drop into the tonight. and we really don't warm up much at all tomorrow. we want to look at how low temperatures go following the cold front and what thereat means for your sunday coming up in a few minutes. happening today, it is small business saturday. >> yeah the big box stores had black friday. and now it's time for the mom and pop shops to get buyers in for their weekend. randy gyllenhaal joins us live with a preview of what's happening there. >> reporter: and there 39 in pottstown. 39 in wilmington. these temperatures are going to continue creeping on up. we're talking 50s. not just low 50s like yesterday. we're looking at mid and upper 50s. if you have family in town and you're watching maybe you're traveling later today, good news is it's a quiet picture on radar and satellite. a few showers in northern parts of california. but that's about it for the whole country. let's go through our travel with the rest of saturday here. this is still a very quiet picture. i don't think there's going to bey issue with travel plans, at least not weather related. awesome shape. you'd never know he's 9 years old. and it's actually adopt a senior pet month. and we're hoping this guy finds a forever home. he has an awesome personality. he's a lover, loves to cuddle and still has a lot of energy. and interestingly enough he loves tires, car tires. he loves to chew on them. he's a chewer. and he also just kind of plays with them. we have one in our dog play yard which is why we figured this out. so maybe his new family could get him a tire interest christmas. >> on old tire. and he's a sweetie. >> he is. he's a cuddle bug. he gets along well with other animals. and he's a little selective with other dogs but generally very good. so we think he could do well in a multiple doghouse hold. if and you guys are running a black friday adoption week. >> all the pet adoption fees are waived. today our back parking lot is closed for repairs, which is actually exciting because it really needs oo be done. but we do have parking at the businesses close by. oh, is it cloudy? it's just hazy. i think that's what's happening currently with this camera view. don't worry, overall very sunny right now. warming up to 41 montana suburbs, 42 enphiladelphia. let's fall into our philadelphia neighborhoods, get a closer look at the variation. 44 in society hill chestnut hill 47. these 40s we're going to keep climbing up. we're talking 50s as we get later into the day. a few scattered clouds and spots of gray you see are rolling by now. but we go a bit wider, and we've got a bit of cloud coverage centered over pennsylvania and some rain directly to our north with a cold front moving our way. so this cold front is triggerer these storms but for the most part they're going to stay to the north of us. meaning for our region it's going oo mean a dry passage. let's go through the three-day outlook. today ahead of the front, warm air. 58 degrees for us. then we'll have the frontal passage, so tomorrow just 39 degrees. also windy tomorrow which will make it feel upper 0s and low 40s even in the afternoon. little warm up beginning again on monday. 52 in philadelphia. an isolated shower possible in the evening in the suburbs and lee high valley. but really looks like it's going to be fairly dry. about the same forecast in lee high valley. 46 on your monday. for new jersey today, 58. same at the shore and almost the same in delaware. and then usee we're near 50 tomorrow. there will be a notable cool down for tomorrow. here's the hour by hour model that shows some increase. the front will start to press in. and notice a few spotty showers mostly to our north. they move out overnight. we're left with a clear picture for your sunday. which means if you're going to the eagles game cheering on the team you're going to probably want to stay bondled up because it'll be cooler. 47 for kick off at 1:00 p.m. and at halftime 49 degrees, breezy as well. those gusts up to 20 miles an hour. the whole region breezy for your sunday. we'll talk about that
