his fraternity. he died when a tractor trailer overturned on 202 in west negotiaten and crashed into his car. nbc10's aundrea cline-thomas joins us live at the chester county democrat office. >> reporter: well, denise,s if a devastating day for chester county democrats tonight. they are saying that adam swope is a hero among organizersers and activists. service was clearly his calling. he served in the democratic party but also at his university in west chester university. yesterday around 12:30 in the afternoon police say his car was hit by a tractor trailer that entered into oncoming traffic before turning. seven other cars were involved in the crash that caused a chain reaction. swope was the only one who died. he worked as an administrative assistant for county commissioner kathico zone who he helicoptered get elected. was an eternal optimist who loved his parents, nana, cats, the steelers, gaim of throwns, his fraternity, weird strategy games, super maria, "the daily show" and politics. it's just such a quick change of events. on tuesday, democrats were celebrating so many big wins. but today they're certainly in mourning. report live, aundrea cline-thomas, nbc10 news. and now to our first alert weather. and we're tracking some showers headed our way that will impact your morning commute on monday. let's go to our meetist for the nbc10 first alert neighborhood forecast. steve, not the -- >> right in time for the monday morning commute. as we go from the arctic air and headed towards the milder air, that transition process will be some showers. right now live radar is dry but i amtraking some showers off to the west. 9 clouds will eventually fill in. with this pocket of clear skies, temperatures could drop here. expect a chilly night tonight. all about the monday morning showers that are pivoting through. this is in the ohio valley right now. this is what you can expect. by 11:00 tonight, it's just overcast. not seeing too much in the way of rain, chill in the air, still dry. as we head towards tomorrow morning at 7:00. look at the green here. that's some rain, even some pink, which means a wet snowflake could mix in here. not accumulating. just insult to injury here. later in the day here we'll see a little bit of sunshine and cooler weather building in her for tuesday. coming up at 6:15 i'll explain why today federal 30 degrees than yesterday. >> thank you. you can track the rain on the nbc10 app and tune in tomorrow morning starting at 4:00 a.m. for nbc news today. after a shooting at a philadelphia nightclub early this morning, two are dead and one is in the hospital. around 4:00 in the morning, a say a fight broke out and that's when the shooting started. the suspect shot two people. one of them died at the hospital. the shooter was also shot by a security guard. now this is the fourth shooting at this club in the past three years. well, hundreds turned out for the first sunday service since the worst mass shooting in texas history. they set an attendance record with more than 500 people coming out to a baseball field in sutherland springs, where a makeshift church was set up for that service. pastor frank pomeroy led an emotional sermon. he lost his 14-year-old daughter in the shooting and described the victims as some of his best friends. 26 people died that day. 20 more were hurt. the suspected gunman is in custody. republican senators are applying pressure for roy moore to drop out of the upcoming alabama senate race. moore's accused of initiating a sexual encounter with a 14-year-old girl back in 1979. he denies those allegations. on "meet the press" this morning, pennsylvania republican senator pat toomey said he finds the accusations more credible than the denial. >> we've got a 40-year-old allegation that is unprovable, probably, and despite that, many of us are suggesting that the preponderance of the evidence seems to support the accuser and therefore many of us, i'll speak for myself, would prefer for roy to step aside. >> moore is in the race for the senate seat vacated by attorney general jeff sessions. well, the president is on the last leg of his trip to asia. he's in the philippines meeting with rodrigo du tear to. the two sat next to each other at a meeting in manila. president trump wearing traditional formal tire. they're celebrating the 50th anniversary of the association of southeast asian nations. more meetings are planned for tomorrow. well, neighbors absoluted veterans today at the annual shiloher mayk field prepared. "taps" was played at veterans square monument as people reflected on sacrifices made. as part of today's ceremony, toiletries were collected for homeless vets. earlier this morning in montgomery county, veterans were invited to have breakfast at the north penn vfw. before breakfast, everyone stood for the pledge of allegiance and eggs, bacon and potatoes were served up. the delaware blue hens are closer to getting some major renovations on their studio. two major donations were just announced and that puts the university of delaware's program within -- it would include a new state of the art athletic center. once construction starts, it could take anywhere from 18 to 24 months to complete. the stadium has not had any upgrades in the past 45 years. up next at 6:00, girl power. how a woman who broke bearers in the nfl gave back to local girls on the football field. we'll introduce you to the new businessowner taking his help for the homeless from outside to inside. m yes, the holiday season is officially underway at the cherry hill mall. today santa fest kicked off the celebration. shoppers got to meet san sta is and rudolph. there are family crafts for the kids, a dj playing holiday music and sing alongs. a family got an early taste of thanksgiving today. whole foods offered a sample of traditional foods and children could write about what they were thankful for in the chalk zone. a turkey boot camp offered grown-ups of all fitness levels an opportunity to burn off some of those calories before the holidays. to take part, participants brought in canned goods. the items will go to fill abupdance to help out those in need. the donation drive is in its seventh year. the grid iron girl's football camp was in philadelphia today. they learned new skills at temple this afternoon. the woman running the camp was the first female coach in the nfl. she says today is a day of empowerment for these girls. >> to be able to give this gift to all of these girls and show them that they can do anything they want in this world, even play football, i feel like it's just a blessed opportunity. >> welter, who used to coach for the arizona cardinals also played football. she says nothing like this was around when she was a child so these girls with this kind of chance. straight ahead, the eagles have the week off, but carson wentz is keeping busy off the field. what he's up to today instead of tossing touchdowns. and grab the umbrella. waking up to a wet, raw and chilly monday morning. i'll tell you what areas will see the steadiest of the rain when temperatures get back to near 60 degrees in your philadelphia's most accurate forecast. can we do this tomorrow? i said i love it. now what? he tossed me the key. >> that key came from a businessowner who has his own shop right here on the same block, but he says he's not worried about the competition. >> i don't look at it as competition. i've been on this block for so long, it's a family. >> reporter: a family that is now growing. brennan jones has plans for other days of the week, too. hoping this becomes a place that is safe and welcoming for everyone. i'm lauren mayk, nbc10 news. now your nbc10 first alert weather. and i'm first alert meteorologist here with your forecast. temperatures today a little bit better than yesterday. we we are talking about middle to upper 40s in a lot of locations, but it felt a lot warmer than that. yet we were at 40 degrees, today we were at 46 degrees. if it felt a lot warmer to you than 6 degrees warmer, there is a reason why. yesterday we woke up to a windchill of 13 degrees of 7:00 in philadelphia. it was brutally windy and cold. very little this afternoon in the way of wind. so the actual feels like temperature was 33 degrees warmer here this afternoon than it was yesterday. that's why it feels so much better than outside. less wind that gives the mild weather conditions and really, you know, tonight as you head out the door, it's going to get chilly again. why? we're going do lose that sunshine we had earlier on today. 40 in brand blanden. temperatures in the upper 30s across the lehigh valley. a pocket of thin clouds to allow temperatures to cool off. 37 waking up to those raw and chilly showers. in the philadelphia suburbs, temperatures tonight probably going below freezing at 11:00, but then going back up as the clouds continue to approach tonight. same deal in the lehigh valley. temperatures steady as we wake up towards tomorrow morning, with a few morning showers. maybe even a wet snowflake mixed in there to add insult to injury there. delaware through jersey. the steady rain lines up with temperatures very rude, mid to upper 30s. 36 tonight in philadelphia. again, expecting the main showers mainly after 3:00 a.m. here are the takeaways from the forecast. it's dry this evening, turns chilly once again, so temperatures back down into the 30s. looking at showers moving in after 3:00 a.m. and linger around for the rush hour tomorrow. this is the batch of showers i'm tracking for you. as you tune in after football tonight, this band of showers will get even closer and i'll time it out for you here after the game. our best projectionings right now at 6:00 tomorrow morning, it will be range, mid to upper 30s for the entire area. it will dry out frost northwest and south to east tomorrow. notice the points up to philadelphia we're expecting some of that light rain. by noon it looks like a lot of the rain will start to shut down. by the afternoon, we should get some sunshine in here for the sunset by 4:00 in the afternoon and turning chilly once again tomorrow night. so temperatures are trending higher. how much higher?
