Nbc10 obtained this high School Picture of devin kelley. The now26yearold is behind the worst mass shooting in texas history, Sutherland Springs. A half hour outside san antonio. Heres what when the shooting was over, 26 parishioners were today including several children. The pastors 14yearold daughter, annabell pomeroy, was among those killed. Her parents were out of town. Witnesses recounting the shooters movements. Rapid fire. Boom, boom, boom. As he exited, the local resident grabbed his rifle and engaged the suspect. It was found he was found deceased in his vehicle. At that time at this time, we dont know if it was a selfinflicted gunshot wound or if he was shot by a local resident. The victims rank in age from 5 to 72. Heres what we know about the shooter, devin kelley. Authorities say he was wearing black Tactical Gear and a bulletproof vest when he went into the church and armed with a semiautomatic rifle. Records indicate the air force courtmartialed him in 2012 for assault on his spouse and their child. He got a bad conduct discharge in 2014. President trump calls the actions evil, the gunman deranged. Speaking from japan on his asia trip, the president touched on what he believes triggered the deadly violence. This isnt a guns situation. We could go into it. Its a little soon to go into it. Fortunately, somebody else had a gun that was shooting in the opposite direction. This is a Mental Health problem at the highest level. Authorities have not determined a motive and have not talked about the gunmans Mental Health. Nbc10 has been following the massacre since it happened. In burlington county, a 16yearold is recovering from a gunshot wound. Police in florence township found the teenage girl in a car on west front street yesterday. Investigators say a Family Member driving her to the hospital had pulled over to call 911. First responders completed the trip then. The teen is in stable condition. The parents of an 8yearold overbrook girl hit and killed by a young driver says a life was snuffed out and justice was not served by a mixed verdict in the case. Last fall a driver hit and killed jaonna powell as she and her brother walked home from school. A jury convicted pool woodland of man Paul Woodland of manslaughter and Reckless Endangerment but not the most serious charge, vehicular homicide. Jaonnas parents are heartbroken about the verdict. No prom. No graduation. I dont get no grandkids. I dont see my baby walk down the aisle. I dont get none of that, but he gets to see his son. Woodland told the court he did not see the children and tried to stop, but it was too late. A judge will sentence him in january. Now to a significant traffic change in philadelphia that will hamstring drivers trying to get on to 76 for more than a year. A stretch of schuylkill avenue by 30th street station shuts down tonight. What we have in this area is schuylkill avenue, the southbound lanes here in the area that i just drew that arrow. Thats going to be shutting down for 15 months. Why . Penndot is rehabilitating the Chestnut Street bridge. This area here. Theyll be rehabilitating the schuylkill stretch over i76. We want to show the ramp at 76. Coming east on market, you wont be able it turn right. You have to detour around here, go down 23rd and find another way back on to 76. This will be an issue for the next 15 months. Penndot is rehabilitating the area, trying to make the whole area here look brand new within the next three years. Start looking for the detours and keep the lane restrictions in mind, as well. The Disaster AssistanceServices Center will move from the Hispanic Association of contractors building where its been set up since last month. Were seeing a delay. A different scene from earlier when cars were moving just fine. Now that were approaching rush hour, a little delay. It even backs up here. With that traffic having to split down either side to the left and ride on the inner and outer drives, we are seeing delays. Thats northbound. Ill keep watching that. Also watching more delays. Heres 95 around cottman avenue. Southbound starting to see some brake lights there heading into the center city side. Watching that. Ill end with the crash in montgomeryville, route 202 around horsham road. Now to the Church Attack in texas. Members of the tightknit community of Sutherland Springs gathered for a vigil last night to honor the 26 lives taken. I cried so much, i dont have any tears left. The guy only brought us closer by doing this. Were more unified now. It gives us reason to bring us even more together. The county sheriff says there was likely no way to escape once the shooting started. The gunman came in shooting, walked to the front of the congregation, turned around, and continued firing on his way out. In the end, 26 people died including several children. Pastors young daughter and a woman who was 8 months pregnant included. The shooter was devin kelley, a member of the air force before he was discharged for bad conduct for assaulting his wife and child. The shooting does not appear to belinged terrorism. The shooter be linked terrorism. The shooter was found dead in his car after neighbors took off after him. Police arent sure how he died. One of the people who chased after him is sharing in on his firsthand account. Reporter the man says he was acting on instinct. When he drove by the church and saw someone from the community he knew exchanging fire with the gunman, he ran to help. He chased the car until it crashed and waited until police arrived. I did what i thought i needed to do which was they said there was a shooting. I preceded and did what i thought was the right thing. Reporter the chase ended with the suspects suv on the side of the road after the crash. Police found the gunman shot dead. An autopsy will show if the wound was selfinflicted or was from the man shooting from outside of the church. A man within earshot had a bullet break through a window. He protected his wife and child inside. When the gunfire stopped, he raced toward the church, potentially into harms way. I just ran to the first person and tried to wrap up gunshot wounds. Trying to hold pressure for people. One of my best friends, his wife and mom were outside. She had been shot. Reporter that man, kevin jordan, said he used to attend that church and knows most of the people who were inside. Live in the digital operations center, katy zachry. We could see new charges against people involved with President Trumps administration. Nbc news has learned federal investigators under Robert Mueller have enough evidence to bring charges against former National Security adviser michael flynn. Flynns son could also face charges. Its part of the larger probe into the investigation. Robert mueller is applying pressure to general flynn after the indictment of former Trump Campaign manager paul manafort. Investigators will be interviewing witnesses to get more information about flynns lobby work. If flynn cooperates with investigators, it could limit the consequences for both himself and his son. Today a jury will decide the fate of senator bob menendez. Prosecutors say he accepted gifts and trips from a florida doctor in exchange for political favors. Menendez says hes innocent. A guilty verdict could impact political power as Chris Christie would get to pick the democrats replacement. New in center city, a single bullet took the life of a 20yearold man on catherine street. Around 7 30 last night, the gunman started shooting near the intersection of 13th street. The victim ran to a gas station and collapsed. Investigators havent released the victims name. The gunman is still on the loose. This morning grief counselors will be available to family and friends who knew a 16yearold who was killed on north 19th. Someone walked up last night with a gun and started shooting. 16yearold marquez houston died at the scene. He was a triplet. Neither of his brothers was hurt. A 12yearold who also lives on the block was shot in the thigh. Neighbors say the violence is just out of control. Has to stop in our community. All communities. All these young people are getting shot for what . Houston was a junior at the charter school. No arrests yet in this case. A Camden Police officer shot in the line of duty gets a chance to meet his own hero. We showed the video of officer Patrick O Hanlon leaving the hospital in his philadelphia sixers jersey. Yesterday the sixers and Camden Police tweeted this picture. Officer ohanlon in the front with his jersey on, with his favorite 76er joel embiid behind him. He was shot in the leg during a struggle wednesday with a suspect. The penn state Nittany Lions look more black and blue after falling out of the top football poll this weekend. The team lost a heartbreaker saturday against Michigan State on the road. The players showed their frustration by walking off the field, skyping the customary skipping the customary postgame handshake. This is the offramp from the vine street expressways eastbound side to 8th street. Thats what ramp this is. Were seeing pretty big delays off the ramp because no one can go straight or go this way because its blocked. Everybody has to make a right coming off the ramp. As we zoom out, this is the eastbound side of the vine street expressway. We are seeing the westbound delay here. The ramp is starting to back up all the way on to the eastbound schuylkill. If youre heading from heading to 95 trying to move to center city on the vine street expressway, we might see a backup behind that if this stays for some time which it looks like it will.
