Sky force 10 live over the scene of a crash involving multiple cars at the toll plaza for the Commodore Barry bridge on the new jersey side in logan township. Were working to find out if anyone is injured. Right now just two lanes are getting by westbound. Authorities tell us to expect delays around the bridge. Right now at 6 00, a south street landmark burned to rubble tonight. Bridget foys served up meals for decades. But this morning a fire ripped right through that restaurant, destroying the place so many customers loved. Nbc10s Steven Fisher has been at the scene of the fire all day. Steven, crews are still clearing debris more than 17 hours after the fire started. Reporter there is a lot to clean up. Take a look here behind me. At one point south street right at second was full of debris. It has since been cleaned up. Its mostly on the curb now. A lot of people around here tell me the restaurant meant a lot to people here. Virtually unrecognizable now. The fire is leaving many without a place to go and without a place to work. Bridget foys on south street is Still Standing but barely. After an earlymorning fire, crews spent the day ripping out and cleaning up charred debris sprawled across the street from the beloved restaurant. This is coming into their busiest time of year. All the office parties, holiday parties. Their Halloween Party is legendary. Reporter patrons knowing that now they have to make new plans. We were going tomorrow night. I was just there last week. Reporter dozens of employees without a job for the foreseeable future. What made bridget foys special was the Friendly Faces and warm welcome, customers say, that made you feel like family. When you have a place in life where you gather with friends and you lose it, part of it dies with you too. I probably had every one of my major life events in that building. Reporter it will be remembered by this community as their home away from home. They put their heart and soul in everything they do. I am told crews will continue to clean up through the night and it will probably last into tomorrow. Which basically means this area here on south street and second will remain closed into tomorrow. We received several calls about people hearing loud booms or feeling their homes shake. Officials tell us there are no reports of earthquake activity. In the past sonic booms caused by drills from military planes have caused rumblings like this but its still unclear if thats what happened this time. New at 6 00. A state official says noncitizens have been voting illegally hundreds of times in pennsylvania. An analysis found more than 500 ballots were cast by noncitizen immigrants. Out of 93 million ballots. A state official says a glitch accidentally allowed people to register to vote when they werent eligible. Right now at 6 00, the president is in texas where he is taking part in a private fundraiser in dallas. Mean while. He is responding to a new report that revealed Hillary Clintons president ial Campaign Paid a company to dig up dirt on her opponent. This could have been completely avoided. The mans fiancee is charged with killing the children. He explains only to nbc10s Andrea Cline Thomas what kept him from being there when his children were drowned. When they told me, we are from wilmington, we are detectives, i just knew it. Reporter really . I just knew something bad had happened. Reporter the detectives visited victor while he was a the immigration and Customs Enforcement facility in york, pennsylvania last week. They told him his 5monthold and 3monthold sons were dead. His fiancee was charged with their murder allegedly drowning the boys in the bathtub at their wilmington apartment. I still cant believe it. Reporter he had been fighting to go home for a month. He says he didnt know moving the family to wilmington was a probation violation. He expressed concerns about palima. Reporter requests for waivers to allow him to visit delaware were denied. According to Court Services in delaware the probation officer was following federal law. Apel was arrested and detained by i. C. E. For a lapse in his immigration status. Its a complete disregard for due process. Reporter now his sons are dead. He says, if he was home it could have been avoided. When were alive. The Mayors Office says the city collected 7. 4 million in soda tax revenue last month. That is the largest monthly total yet since the tax went into effect in january. Reporter in avalon, ice cream trucks like these are now a topic of debate. We have received many complaints through the years. They keep increasing every summer. The trucks are fine. I think youre making too much ado about nothing. Reporter criminals are considering banning the trucks citing noise problems. Trucks operating at improper times and locations and safety issues, especially on narrow beach block streets. Its impossible for the trucks to safely turn around where there are kids in the street who have purchased or want to purchase ice cream. I feel something not fair is going on. We try to pay attention. We have a problem. We try to fix it and work with the city to go everything a fair way. But they just ignore us. Reporter after hearing from an ice cream vendor and Community Members council deciding today to table a vote on a law change that would move summer ice cream sales from streets to the sand. A practice common in other shore towns. It would be nonintrusive vending, meaning no bells, no music, no calling for ice cream. It would be in a push cart with the products clearly marked on the side. Reporter the vote was put on hold for further discussion.
