be about 86 today. we cool off into the evening. the 70s returning to the board. we've got this warm spell continuing throughout the next couple of days. then it breaks, and we are watching as well right here hurricane maria. coastal impacts will part fwh fwhfwher -- partner with cooling temperatures in the days to come. we'll look at that coming up. right now, got to talk traffic with jessica boyington. yeah, we're watching in new jersey, route 70 around the cameras at kings highway. so far, so good both directions. okay east and west. you see traffic moving nicely there. we're also watching a crash, new one, in frack on cherry lane -- in franconia on cherry lane at mifflin. watch for the intersection there. the schuylkill expressway, finally clear. we've been watching this around 202 and the westbound side. all of that construction project is finally clear. a little bit of brake lights. there might be construction vehicles still leaving the scene. for the most part, lanes are back open. now we're just in time for the rush. 6:02. breaking news in chester county. a man wanted for shooting his ex-girlfriend's mother has been found dead. his body was in his car in a wawa parking lot in schuylkill township. greg feldman was wanted for attempted murder in the shooting that police say was revenge for a breakup. police are not talking about how feldman died. nbc10's matt delucia is gathering details and will bring us a live report in the next half hour. we're also following breaking news out of north philadelphia where a person was killed overnight in a shooting. >> but in a bit of a twist, police didn't find the murder victim right away. nbc10's katy zachry is live are details. >> reporter: police needed help in locating the third victim of the deadly shooting. we were scene not long ago. investigators wrapped up their collection of evidence. outside police headquarters, homicide detectives are working on finding the person who did this. look at video from the scene. it was just around 1:00 this morning when philadelphia police were called to 6th and perth streets in north philadelphia after gunfire had woken up neighbors there. two men had been shot several times, but they were alive. they're being treated at the hospital. in a twist, about an hour after investigators got to the scene and were canvassing the area, neighbors came up and said the neighbors had found a third victim in the shooting. that person was dead. the body found in the woods at the complex. people are going to be devastated as the neighborhood wakes up. the whole community will be affected because they say it's a close-knit community at the complex at 6th and perth. as far as who did this, investigators tell us they are looking for the suspect. the only information they have on him now is that he's a man. he was wearing dark clothing, and seen wearing a mask. they are looking at some police cameras in the area, hoping to get clues there. reporting live in center city, katy zachry, nbc10 news. >> thank you. 6:04. now to a developing story. it looks as if the republicans' latest effort to repeal obamacare will fall short. last night, maine senator susan collins became the crucial third gop member to reject the graham-cassidy bill. she joined rand paul and john mccain in announcing that they would vote no, leaving the gop one vote short of the 50 needed to pass. jimmy kimmel thanked senator mccain for saying he couldn't vote for the new bill. >> senator john mccain of arizona rode in and pulled a red wedding. he said he could not in good conscience support home invasion/suicide even thou-- co support cassidy-graham even though it was written by his good friend, lindsey graham. do you know how many times i pretended to like something just because my friends wrote it? a million. that was big. >> the issue is personal for kimmel because his son was born with a congenital heart defect. police arrested nearly 200 people during protests against the bill that erupted inside the capitol. police removed demonstrators, even dragging people in wheelchairs from a hearing. we're learning more about a top-secret visit to our area by facebook ceo mark zuckerberg. he's been spotted ordering cheesesteaks at pat's. we showed you pictures, and dining at iron hill. he wasn't here to eat. he was in delaware discussing how the social network could help others respond to natural disasters. zuckerberg posted this picture on his facebook page after he met with governor carney and his team. and delaware officials told us that they had to keep the meeting secret, or facebook told them it wouldn't happen. zuckerberg outlined three ways facebook can help during natural disasters. the safety check tool, community help, that matches volunteers with people who need help, and fund raising tools that enables anyone on facebook to raise money for nonprofits by posting and tagging organizations. in philadelphia's northern liberties neighborhood, investigators are looking into this fire that heavily damaged an apartment building there. here's a look at the scene from sky force 10 last night. the building is on the corner of 5th street and girard avenue. it started after 9:30. crews had it under control in about an hour. no one was hurt. in wilmington, a school principal is back on the job after district officials put him on administrative leave. >> we will get a new board! we'll get a new board president! i've been on the phones -- >> parents rallied outside of thomas edison school in support of the principal. it followed a sickout staged by teachers that closed the school on monday. the dispute focused on ell's fight to give teachers and staff a raise that the board had promised but took back. the president of the school board apologize today to parents saying both sides -- apologized to parents saying both sides worked out their differences. today a civil rights icon will be immortalized at city hall. the statue of actioctavius catts set up. it will be the first statue in the city's collection dedicated to a single african-american. the memorial won't be too far from former mayor frank rizzo's statue. the statue was the center of a controversy and protest last month by those who see rizzo as a symbol of racism. officialsing too suggestions -- officials took suggestions. and one of the ideas was to built an african-american statue near the statue. but the catto statue was planned long before this happened. 6:07. let's give you a live look at center city and the airmark building. winds there flapping the flags a little bit. >> still warm, though, wow. look at that. 67 degrees. >> let's check in with krystal klei with the most accurate weather forecast. >> yeah. a light breeze, but it is a warm breeze that we are dealing with today. and still the reason why is that dome of high pressure. so what you see here is that the high pressure is centered over us. it's weakening just a bit. i'll indicated that because it's -- i don't know if you saw yesterday, but the "h" covered the whole region. weakening a bit today meaning we will still be hotter than average but not quite as hot as the last two days. instead of low 90s, mid to upper 80s are likely. nonetheless, that is still way warmer than average for this time of year. the average in philadelphia is 74. we'll pass that in the morning hours. look at the sky conditions. i think north and west, zones will see a few scattered clouds. still sunny out there. along the southern edge of our viewing area, mostly cloudy conditions are likely because of the fact that we're looking at the outer moisture from hurricane maria spreading our direction. the lehigh valley, right now at 6:08, 65 the current temperature. like i said, we're going to pass the 70s early on this morning. and right back to the mid to upper 80s by this afternoon. winds still coming in from the east and fairly light in nature. for philadelphia, 67 currently. there you go, 10:00 a.m., 72. by noon, mid 70s. we should make it into the 80s this afternoon. i actually think that in the afternoon we'll make it to around 86 for the high officially in philly. at the jersey shore, a little different story. we are cloudy at 69. we will stay mostly cloudy out there. temperatures picking up around 73 at noon. 74 by 4:00, and we could just see an isolated shower near the shoreline. i think it will probably stay out to sea. delaware could get a sprinkle, as well, today. well ahead of hurricane maria. the rip current risk still high out there for dangerous conditions developing, meaning it's best to stay out of the water, delaware beaches, the jersey shore. this will last a couple more days because maria's impacts will last a couple of more days. we'll talk more about that and the big cooldown for the weekend coming up. >> thank you. 6:10. it's means the vine street expressway, i don't think it was closed overnight. i good drive. here we are vine street expressway around 8th street. here's westbound. that's what's moving up toward the schuylkill expressway. right now, no problems there. eastbound toward 95, even lighter trip. also watching a crash in franconia. watch for this on cherry lane at mifflin street. that intersection might be blocked for you and moving through berlin, a good drive, too. route 30 to the white horse pike. this whole centerjection looks nice, everybody -- center intersection looks nice, everybody moving. no problems or delays. on the 42 freeway, drive times, a five-minute trip still northbound. yesterday around this time, we were seeing huge jam-ups on the northbound side. i'll keep watching in case that happens again today. route 55 to the walt whitman bridge, speeds up, "ste "steve" airs this afternoon followed by ellen at 3:00. coming up on nbc10 at 4:00, more behind the scenes with steve harvey. hear his response when he was asked about the office memorial open that had everyone talking about how he treats his staff. that's coming up at 4:00. >> we'll look forward to that. 6:17. let's check on traffic and i-78. >> jessica boyington has you covered. >> yeah. watching that moving through the lehigh valley. our cameras around lehigh street right here, both directions okay. the eastbound, westbound sides so far, so good. there's a crash. watch for this on south trooper road around forga avenue. that popped up in the last five minutes or so. mass transit okay for the most part. very minor delays for septa. 11 minutes late. amtrak, new jersey transit on or close to schedule. back to you. 6:18. a new view of penn's landing. pretty. let's find out what's to come when the sun comes out in probably a half hour. right, krystal klei? >> yes, sunrise about to happen. another day that is much warmer as an average. and look, excited that we have new cameras to look at. let's start by talking about our high temperatures today. so this morning, many of russ near 70 degrees. into the afternoon, 86 in center city, 85 in chestnut hill. lansdale, looking at 84. look at that -- easton up to 87. not quite as hot as yesterday. spots in the lehigh valley made it to the low 90s. close. still mid to upper 80s. also note in the suburbs, the lehigh valley, we are looking more scattered clouds leaning toward mostly sunny. in new jersey, the shore, and delaware, particularly southern delaware, looking at more scattered sun and clouds moving toward mostly cloudy conditions. there will be variation neighborhood to neighborhood. 83 in voorheis. mid to upper 70s along the jersey shore. you notice we're looking low 80s farther south. mid to upper 80s farther north in delaware. throughout delaware, we could see an isolated shower develop as a result of the moisture that's starting to press north ahead of hurricane maria. on our nationals and phillies forecast today, if you're seeing the game, 7:05 start time. first pitch, about 82 degrees. scattered clouds, and we stay upper 70s to mid 70s. the humidity has been ticking up day by day. today into tomorrow, you'll notice the humidity is up. the air kind of sticky. on the hour by hour, scattered clouds as we move forward right on through your tuesday. more clouds south than north. wednesday, the clouds kind of spread a bit more. there's wednesday morning h. the commute may be more on the cloudy side. an isolated shower, through the 95 corridor, through wednesday afternoon. i think better chance of a spot shower will be near the coastal points. that starts to dry out as we go into the night. by thursday, wipe it out of. there we start to see dry conditions, and it will start to feel more crisp and fall-like beginning thursday afternoon. let's talk about hurricane maria. the current conditions have it still a cardigan 1 hurricane. you -- category-1 hurricane. you see the track gives us the direct north push through tomorrow. tomorrow into thursday, look at that quick hook to the right. that turn to the right is going to pull it out to sea and away from us. again, the current reading is at 75 mile-per-hour wind speed which makes it barely a hurricane and 74 being the criteria to classify as a category-1 hurricane. for the coastal impacts, looking at rough seas out there. seas up to about 10 to 12 feet. the highest wave heights. increasing wind gusts, as well, and a high rip current risk. minor beach erosion particularly on delaware beaches possible, and spot showers wednesday into early thursday. >> thank you. 6:20. we learned last week that russian hacking hit close to home. now we know why. next, the impact that country may have wanted to have on voters in pennsylvania. plus, reunited after disaster. how a chance meeting led to a powerful phone call for three local sisters waiting for news from puerto rico. ♪ hey grandpa. hey, kid. really good to see you. you too. you tell grandma you were going fishing again? maybe. be sick of me saying this. we are looking at another above-average forecast as we get into the afternoon. and you can tell because temperatures are similar to what we saw yesterday morning at the same time. 68 in philadelphia and vineland. 66 in coatesville. and atlantic city at 67 degrees. temperatures starting near 70 makes it easy for them to rise to the 80s by the afternoon. we're nearly 70 here. we go from 68 now to 69 at 9:00 a.m. by lunchtime, we're in the upper 70s. already warmer than average. winds on the lighter side, about five to ten miles per hour. not a lot of relief there. on top of that, had fairly humid today. good news is, this spell breaks soon enough. now we'll go to traffic and jessica boyington. thanks. 95 is where we're starting at gerard avenue. times so far, so good. we're getting up there on the drive from woodhaven to the vine on the southbound side. speeds also into the mid 30s. there's a crash in the area. watch on south trooper road. around the avenue, i'll end with 422. drive times creeping up a bit. we're almost double, just over double. right now on the eastbound side, 29 to the schuylkill, speeds also into the 30s and a 15-minute trip. breaking news overnight in chester county. the man accused of shooting his ex-girlfriend's mother has been found dead. police have been hunting for greg feldman since the shooting in lymerick. last night they found his body in the parking lot of a schuylkill township wawa. >> matt delucia with more from norristown where investigators are trying to figure out where he's been since the shooting. what can you tell us? >> reporter: greg feldman had been on the run for three days and was found last night in that parking lot in the wawa parking lot, chester county. this was the scene in the parking lot. the district attorney's office confirming that feldman's body was found there. investigators removed a gun from the car and towed it away. at this point it has not been confirmed how he died. going back to friday, police in lymerick, montgomery county, started looking for the 30-year-old after they say he shot his ex-girlfriend's mother because that girlfriend broke up with him. the mother was shot twice in the chest. she is still recovering. police say feldman later told his ex that he wanted her to feel his pain. the d.a.'s office posted an award for his capture. flyers went out. there was even a push on social media to find this man. from he was from friday to monday is the big question detectives are trying to figure out. the manhunt this morning is over. live in norristown, matt delucia, nbc10 news. >> thank you. nfl players, coaches, and owners brought their show of unity and message of equality to monday night football. >> the cowboys put a new spin on the national anthem protest last night by kneeling before the anthem and standing during the anthem. the players and owner jerry jones still drew boos from the crowd. and jordin sparks who appeared to perform sent a subtle message on her hand. she scribbled a bible verse that says, "speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all those who are destitute," and "speak up and judge fairly. defend the rights of the poor and needy." at chicky's and pete's last night, the national anthem issue was the topic of conversation. >> might not agree with those guys taking the knee, but they say that's what america's all about. being able to take that knee. >> i'm dead serious what i'm saying, okay. i hated it. >> because of the comments from the president, people are more open to talk about things. >> in alabama last night, vice president mike pence told a campaign crowd that he stands with president trump on standing for the national anthem. >> we've all got a right to our opinions, but i don't think it's too much to ask the players in the national football league to stand for our national national anthem. >> on friday, president trump suggested that nfl players who protest during the national anthem should be fired. players widely opposed the view, citing the first amendment and calling for unity. new, the pittsburgh steeler who stood during the national anthem sunday says he regrets how it looked. >> alejandro villanueva, an army veteran, was the only steeler who came out for the pregame anthem. he said he felt embarrassed for unintentionally showing up his teammates who remained in the tunnel in solidarity. >> it wasn't me stepping forward. i never planned to boycott the plan that the steelers came up with. i just thought that there was to be in middle ground where i could stay in the tunnel, nobody would see me. afterwards, i wouldn't talk to the media like i do all the time. >> in retrospect, ben roethlisberger said he wished the team had approached it differently and said he never wanted to appear divided. 6:35. we'll go state by state and county by county for a look at stories from across our area. >> in chester county, the man in this video punching a disabled man pleaded guilty yesterday to misdemeanor assault charges. barry baker faces two to four years in prison. prosecutors say the video from last month shows baker mocking and punching the victim outside a convenience store. baker originally rejected a plea deal after disputing the prosecution's description of the events. in northeastern pennsylvania, police say a funeral director flaunted pictures of dead bodies to family and friends. angelia stewart from montaonroe county admitted to taking the pictures. she said they were meant to share with her colleagues. investigators found evidence that stewart was selling marijuana. she was charged with abuse of a corporations and possession with -- of a corpse and possession with intent to sell. in bucks county, an oil spill yesterday in warrington could cause problems today, as well. crews spent hours cleaning up oil from the truck on countyline road. they reopened. however, the road is going to be closed again so it can be resurfaced. they'll close the road at 9:00 a.m. it could stay closed through the end of the day. also in bucks county, looking for a job? more than 200 new jobs will be available at parks casino, part of an expansion expected to open this winter. the expansion will feature new restaurants, an exclusive poker room, and a live entertainment venue. the casino will host a jobs fair for these 200 open positions tomorrow at the park's east complex on street road. in atlantic county, the state is asking a judge to reverse his decision that saved the jobs of firefighters in atlantic city. new jersey said the city cannot afford the firefighters' salary, and the state took over atlantic city's finances last year. the judge blocked the layoffs in a ruling last month. he said letting go of at least 50 firefighters would compromise public safety in the city. it is still early in the week, of course. by the end of the week and certainly the weekend, looks like we'll have fall weather. >> instead not now. it's relatively warm outside. we have the preview of what's to come. >> yeah, a few more days fall weather. the heating spell that we have been under, it continues for two more days if you count today. this is the live view outside. this picture is a little different than the live camera view that we've been seeing. instead of the perfectly clear blue, we have patchy fog, low hanging clouds trying to develop. you might notice it seems hazy. moisture is going to suspend any dust particles, anything like that through the day. this view is better off. you see some of the kind of thin, high clouds out there? the distance. today, we'll see a few more clouds build across the region. especially along the south and east of the viewing area. way to our south we've got hurricane maria. the bands of rain from maria are starting to extend into parts of the outer banks. we could see a sprinkle make it to parts of our viewing zone today. for the most part, impacts will be in the form of clouds. very hot the last few days. yesterday we made it to the 90s again officially in philadelphia, 91. that puts us at 26 90-degree days this year at the official reporting station in philly. and today, very warm. it does not look like we'll make it to the 90s. 8 -- rather, 60 at 8:00 a.m. we'll move to 84 at 4:00 p.m. could high of 86. yesterday we had the sun icon hour by hour. instead mostly cloudy to partly cloudy conditions. more so we'll see the sunshine in areas like the pennsylvania suburbs. 83 at 4:00. mostly sunny to partly cloudy in the lehigh valley, too. more clouds, like i mentioned, farther south. delaware with an isolated chance of a shower late day. 83 degrees at 4:00 p.m. about the same in new jersey. less likely to see a shower today. and at the jersey shore, mostly cloudy throughout the day. at noon, 74 degrees. we'll stay near the mid 70s into the afternoon hours, as well. coming up, we'll talk about when those temperatures do start to take around trooper road we were starting to see big delays eastbound moving toward the schuylkill. on south trooper at forge avenue, watching for a crash there. route 73 at the atlantic city expressway, everything looks good. here's the expressway. both directions east and west are good. here's 73. everything there on the south jersey roads are okay. 95, though, starting to see an increase in drive times right now. 27 minutes southbound from woodhaven to the vine street expressway. speeds also into the 30s. there's a new recall for thousands of strollers this morning. >> next, the problem that is what happens when a full-size bus comes along and hits your retaining wall. >> reporter: photos taken by neighbors moments after a new jersey transit bus backed into robert daly's property. >> you're looking at how many feet here? >> about 20 feet of damage. >> reporter: it happened while he was at work. >> i came home to a pile of rubble. >> reporter: we see more in his back yard. this is where he stores the rubble. daly said he thought getting new jersey transit to repair the wall would be easy. he filed this police report, and a complaint against new jersey transit. police interviewed the bus driver. in the report the driver admits to backing into daly's wall. the transit authority b'naied his claim -- denied his claim. daly says new mexijersey transi told him state law required daly to file a claim with his homeowners insurance. >> this is wrong. this is wrong. someone damaged my property. i shouldn't have to put a claim in in my homeowners policy. >> reporter: daly says the authority also refused to pay his deductible. that's when he contacted "nbc10 responds." we contacted new jersey transit. it would not go into detail, but after we got involved, it decided to schuylkill township. greg feldman was wanted for attempting murder in the school shooting that was allegedly over a breakup. they're not saying how he died. in north philadelphia, the search is on for whoever shot three men. two victims are at the hospital. a third victim was found dead in the bushes by neighbors an hour after the other victims were found. this just in -- in the past 20 minutes, president trump tweeted in response to the cowboys' sideline show of unity during monday night football last night. the president wrote, "the booing at the nfl football game last night when the entire dallas team dropped to its knees was the loudest i have ever heard. great anger." this was the cowboys' spin on the national anthem protest that the president's talking about. they knelt before the
