There is still virtually no communication from victims of Hurricane Maria in puerto rico to their relatives hooer in the delaware valley. Puerto rican parade is here and stands are already popping up all over kensington. Many are acting as gathering points for families showing pride for the country. It is aggravating. Its like knowing nothing at all. Im scared because my mom is diabetic. A committee of 25 local groups is strategizing the best way to help out victims of maria. Many of those ways will be on display this weekend during the sunday parade. Lets talk to chief meteorologist tammie souza has been monitoring the latest track. This powerful storm isnt yet finished. Its not yet finished. Its headed to the turks and caicos. Im sure it will be destructive there. 30 to 40 miles out of either side of the eye will feel the Hurricane Force winds. Its like standing in the middle of a tornado for six, eight, ten hours. Thats what theyve been going through. Imagine that in the back of your mind. Thats why you see the destruction you see. Its pushing a lot of water along with it. So a pretty good storm surge is expected with this. The eye is really trying to reform. Its kind of muddied up a little. It could be undergoing eye wall replacement. It could be that its going to start to move over warmer water and intensify more. It is a category 3 storm and it is moving to the north and west. Again about 9 miles an hour. Its not going anywhere fast. But it is going to be headed for the turks and caicos. Thats going to be the next stop. The central pressure is 960. Thats good. Its not the 906 it was making it the tenth most intense storm in the atlantic. Even more intense than irma was. And you can see it is a 3. The cone is expected to be to the east of the bahamas. Its down to a 2 off the shore of the carolinas and a 1 offshore from the carolinas and headed toward the midatlantic. But it does start to straighten out. By the time we get to next friday, not tomorrow but next friday, we are going to be looking at it somewhere off the shore of the Midatlantic States pushing some big waves into our area.
