A lot to talk about and a lot in the path. Thats right. We are seeing those maximum sustained winds at 175 Miles Per Hour. To your point, still a category 5. This is what we are tracking. Current pressure at 921 milibars. It is headed in our direction and we are expecting land fall some time over the weekend. Pause this where we are expecting conditions to be really rough. While its not going to make land fall in the bahamas we are expecting it to pick up steam and pick up its path and not be effected. It wont be effected by any of the land masses. Normally we are looking for something to weaken it. Not going to be the case here. It is speeding off a lot of that warm water. It will be a very healthy hurricane as it does make land fall. Expected to be over the weekend. We are seeing saturday at 8 00 a. M. We are expecting wind speeds to be at about 155 Miles Per Hour, which would make it a category 4. It does favor the eastern portion of the peninsula. Right here at 8 00 a. M. It is feeding off the really bawarm water here. Today the caribbean wakes to irmas palt of destruction, 185 Miles Per Hour winds leveling barbuda. As it stands now barbuda is barely habitable. Reporter businesses are boarding up and gas stations are running dry. Its a mad house. I dont want to run out of gas on the road. We boarded up the house and hoping for the bechlts itst. I went to a different airline, that one got cancelled. They thought they would have to ride it out in an airport until they found a rescue charter flight with just a few seats left. The couple ran down the runway and took off free of charge. She was like an angel. They sent in four rescue flights. There were 32 seats left and we got seat 25 and 26. She was like an angel. I took it like a sign from god, like get home. The couple is now safely in philadelphia. They run a popular canoli business. Richard ross just explained his decision to fire officer ryan pownow. Officer pownow violated departmental policy. He failed to notify police radio of the traffic stop or call for back up. He fired two shots at jones while he was running away and no longer posing what appeared to be a threat to himself or witnesses at that moment. In order to fire it is to the officer or another person because jones never looked back in the video and his hands were empty. He posed no eminent or immediate threat to pownow. We are seeing videos in the British Virgin islands. An atlanta man recorded the storm from his hotel room. You can see the wind was whipping around the palm trees and boats are in jeopardy as well. Cubans are watching and waiting anxious about the arrival of irma. The storm is due to hit some time tomorrow morning. This is an aerial shot of miami. It is sunny and bright there. Its a really nice day but irma is not too far away. It has the Southern Coast of florida in its sight. Hurricane irma still a huge category 5 storm that already left destruction behind in the caribbean. There is now a hurricane watch for florida keys and southern florida. About a million customers without power in puerto rico after irma struck there. Ability 70 of the power is gone on the island right now. Erika is tracking this storm. Really interesting here. Hurricane irma already set a record as the longest lasting category 5 to sustain its speed of 185 Miles Per Hour. There were about shelters set up as an emergency precaution. He said this morning floogd is a major concern.
