The reason is this, a lot of people were forced to leave their homes and pets behind because of the floodwaters hav subsided, those pets are being rescued and housed at local shelters until families are able to claim them. Many people able to return to homes and living out of hotels. Brandy wine spca stepping up to take in adopted animals from texas so lk after family pets and other rescues, but thats not all theyre doing to help. Deploy down to houston. Helping in two different locations. One asked from best Friends Animal Society to help set up new temporary shelter to hold up tow 1,000 animals in that location to help with a lot of overflow. Also going to help a small shelter in the southern part below houston right on the gulf coast there. Still getting secondary flooding. They have a lot of need to help manage intake and medical processes. Take a look at this. One of the guys who helped drive the animals up from texas has already decided to adopt one. Tropical storm jose just behind irma and likely to take the exact same path. The Leeward Islands may have a similar issue before it will likely start to spin up to the north. Several situations in the tropics. Models keeping irma moving just to the north of puerto rico and Dominican Republic. Models are more consistently pulling it quickly to the north of cuba instead of delaying that turn.
