MEDIA — A 31-year-old Wallingford man has been arrested for allegedly supplying a fatal dose of the powerful synthetic opioid fentanyl that killed a 16-year old girl in July.
William Michael Gabe is facing charges of drug delivery resulting in death, involuntary manslaughter and delivery of a controlled substance, all felonies, as well as misdemeanor charges of tampering with evidence, reckless endangerment and corrupting the morals of a minor, District Attorney Jack Stollsteimer announced Friday.
“This is a heart-breaking case involving the death of a very young woman and a defendant who knowingly and intentionally gave her the poison that killed her,” said Stollsteimer in a release. “This prosecution makes clear that when we can prove that an individual distributed the drugs that resulted in an overdose death, that individual will be charged with murder.”
