Wakefield Households to Receive Christmas Cards from Church Leaders Friday, December 18th, 2020 A UK church is surprising the local community, by sending out 65,000 Christmas Cards to households across the city of Wakefield. Wakefield Bishop Tony Robinson led the initiative, seeking to lift spirits after a difficult and tumultuous year. Premier News reports, the cards are part of a larger multi-channel communication designed to help those in the city who would value some encouragement. Two digital vans will display a giant animated version of the card and will be on a “patrol of encouragement” for over a week. The initiative also includes lighting up Wakefield Cathedral red and green for 15 days.
