More breaking news, this news closer to our. Home country this morning has lost a civil rights icon. Julian bond, the champion of the Civil Rights Movement has passed away at the age of 75. For decades he was one of the leading activists who pushed for equal rights for African Americans in the United States and really around the world. Sky witness news reportser Eyewitness News reporter Kristin Thorne has more on bonds life and his amazing legacy. Reporter rob, this building here in midtown, julian bond had a special connection w. He was here several years ago connection with. He was here several years ago for the Ribbon Cutting when it was new back in 2010. We have video of that. He was here on the day that was the then the 100th anniversary of the naacp and he was opening 6th avenue. He served as chairman ever the naacp for 11 years. He was the founding president of the law center which happened in the 1970s. The tennessee native was the forefront of the Civil Rights Movement. He served as a professor for various prestigious universities, including harvard and the university of pennsylvania. It was the Southern Law Center that is confirming his death this morning saying in a statement that the country has lost one of its most passionate and eloquent voices for the cause of justice. Investigators say two people attacked the officer while he was doing rounds early this morning at the interior Ministry Complex grabbing his gun and shooting him. The officer in france is expected to survive. Special Security Forces searched the building but could not find those suspects. Police are investigating a crash that killed three people on the Taconic State Park pai in westchester parkway in westchester county. This was yesterday afternoon. An suv driving northbound lost control, hit an embankment and went into the air. Airborne. Crashed into the southbound lanes striking three other cars. Three people died in this. Their names have not been released. One person is in critical condition. Five others are stable at the hospital. A brooklyn family is mourning the loss of a little boy found unresponsive in the waters off of queens beach. It left beachgoers extremely shaken. Helicopters and First Responders swarmed queens beach in rackaway rockaway pork. Rescue crews were searching for ezekiel gray who somehow slipped away from his family. Police say an onduty lifeguard found the little boy unresponsive there in the water. They were trying hard to revive willing. They were unsuccessful revive him. They were unsuccessful. He was lifeless. The child was taken to the hospital where he was later pronounced dead. A medical examiner will now determine the exact cause of death.
