BENNINGTON â The Vermont Supreme Court has ordered all state court hearings to be held remotely â with limited exceptions â due to the current course of the pandemic. The court announced Tuesday that remote hearings are now mandatory, revising a previous order that they be held âto the maximum extent possible.â âThe dynamic nature of the pandemic requires the Judiciary to continually assess its operations and adapt accordingly,â State Court Administrator Patricia Gabel said in a news release. In-person Superior Court hearings will continue to be held in some situations, according to the courtâs Dec. 22 amendment to its March 16 âdeclaration of judicial emergency.â
