Jul 28, 2021 Rochester Police Chief Cynthia Herriott-Sullivan says a joint Rochester-Buffalo Federal task force has arrested 29 individuals wanted for violent crimes in Rochester, and and sent seven of them for federal prosecution, keeping them off the streets. She says they're also seeing a reduction in violent crime, at least for now....from more than 20 shootings and five homicides in the two weeks before the program...to 11 shootings and one homicide in the two weeks since the program started. Chief Herriott-Sullivan says she doesn't just want to measure arrests, but whether Rochester's quality of life is improving. She says she wants people to be able to go outdoors without worrying about being shot.
