Victim identified in Loris area homicide | Myrtle Beach News

The Horry County Coroner’s Office has identified the victim in a homicide in the Loris area of Horry County.

Brooke Akins, 19, of Galivants Ferry, was taken to McLeod Loris ER with a gunshot wound to the head where she was pronounced dead at 1:30 a.m. on Nov. 5, according to Horry County Chief Deputy Coroner Tamara Willard.

According to arrest warrants obtained from the Horry County Police Department, William Perritt, 21, of Chadbourn, N.C., was arrested in connection to the incident and charged with murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.
