Ventura's ATLAS Elementary to become K-8 school East Ventura will soon get a kindergarten through eighth grade school at Academy of Technology and Leadership at Saticoy — widely known as ATLAS Elementary. On Tuesday, the Ventura Unified School District board voted 4-1, with a dissenting vote from Trustee Matt Almaraz, to add grades six to eight at the elementary school. This vote comes after the district's decision last year to add middle school grades to Lemon Grove School, formerly known as Blanche Reynolds Elementary, for the start of the 2021-22 school year. The decision was partly made due to parents' desire for a school from transitional kindergarten to eighth grade in midtown Ventura.
