US disengages from lawsuit for using radioactive weapons in Iraq
Baghdad, Jan 9 (Prensa Latina) The United States turns a deaf ear to a lawsuit by Iraq against the use of depleted uranium ammunition as part of the invasion and occupation of the Arab country in 2003, the Pars Today website stressed today.
The Iraqi government has filed a complaint on this matter with a court in Sweden, but until now the legal procedure continues to be silenced in international public opinion.
The lawsuit was brought about by the legal adviser to the Iraqi Parliament, Hatif al-Rikabi, through which Baghdad demands compensation for US bombings against former nuclear facilities in the Arab country.
