Police confirmed that a suspect in an officer-involved shooting has died of his injuries.
San Jose Police Media Relations posted on Twitter at 3:17 a.m. Tuesday the following message:
"We can now confirm that the person who confronted our Officers did not survive his injury. More to follow."
The shooting occurred at 9:43 p.m. in the 1100 block of Tofts Drive as officers were conducting a follow-up investigation. No further details were provided.
Police said Tuesday the department's spokesperson will be on scene and available to media at about 6 a.m., that a press conference will be scheduled in the coming days and that, in the meantime, updates will be forthcoming on Twitter.
