UP Madrasa Education Board objects to basic education department serving notices on madrasas

The Uttar Pradesh Madrasa Education Board has criticized the basic education department for serving notices on some madrasas in districts like Muzaffarnagar, calling it "illegal." The board chairman stated that only the minority welfare department has the right to inspect madrasas and that the interference of the basic education department is causing problems. The basic education department sent notices to over 12 unrecognised madrasas in Muzaffarnagar, questioning their operation without registration. If the madrasas fail to respond, a fine of Rs 10,000 per day will be imposed. Similar cases have been reported in other districts as well.
