Understanding police – The Echo

I would have thought that someone like David Heilpern with his experience as a magistrate would have a better understanding of the difficulties our police force have to face in their everyday job.
Look at some of the off-their-face drug addicts they have to deal with for example.
But no, he has joined the tribe of Byron Bay whingers who want to complain about something and you print their letters in this paper.
Why not find something happy to write about or do you live such joyless lives.
One can only hope that when someone like Heilpern needs the police force he might change his narrow little mind.
