Oddly, the Pick-Up was based not on the A35 Van but the two-door saloon. The 'Austin Service' livery only adds to its charm
At first sight, the A35 Pick-Up owned by Harry Douglas appears the sort of vehicle that could have graced any Austin dealership during the 1950s. However, this is no ordinary utility, as the load-bay floor can be transformed into a rear seat for two additional occupants. The idea was that the A35 could be employed transporting labourers around a building site – the reality was that Austin sold a mere 475 examples.
