Mangaluru, Dec 15: Two years after the fishing boat from here, 'Suvarna Tribhuja' went missing along with seven fishermen on board, there is no conclusive evidence to suggest what had happened to the boat and the fate of the missing fishermen.
The families have been clinging on to the hope that their dear ones are alive and will come back. They have been requesting the authorities to find out and bring back the fishermen who were the pillars of support to their families. The boat titled 'Suvarna Tribhuja' had sailed off from Malpe fishing port on December 13, 2018. From midnight of December 15, all contact was lost with the boat. Thereafter efforts were made to find out what had actually happened to the boat and fishermen, but in vain. After lot of efforts, remains of the boat were found on May 1 about 33 km away from Malwan seashore about 64 metres under water. But there is no clue what happened to the seven fishermen. Even though there was information that some hard object had hit a navy boat in the area, and the authorities were requested to investigate, there was no headway.
