Uddhav Thackeray: If needed, I will meet PM Modi over Maratha quota post SC ruling Mirror Online / Updated: May 5, 2021, 21:38 IST Mumbai: Maharashtra chief minister Uddhav Thackeray on Wednesday (May 5) urged the Centre and President Ram Nath Kovind to step in and help the Marathas in the state to get quota as the Supreme Court struck down the 2018 law, giving quota in government jobs and education to the Marathas, by terming it "unconstitutional". "The Supreme Court has said that this is not a decision for the state to take on its own. This is something the Centre and President need to decide on. I appeal to the Centre and the President because the SC has now said that only they can take a decision," the chief minister said.
