The Nutmeg State was ranks No. 20 among all states in the 2020 list; in the journal's previous "Best States" report, Connecticut came in at No. 21. Rankings for the report were determined by over 70 metrics in eight different categories, health care, education, economy, infrastructure, economic opportunity, fiscal stability, crime and corrections and natural environment.
