SAN SALVADOR — The U.S. Government, through the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), donated an additional $2 million to support the Government of El Salvador’s (GOES) response to the COVID-19 pandemic. With this grant, the U.S. Government has provided $28 million to El Salvador since the onset of the emergency. The U.S. Government is also the largest donor to COVAX. We have provided $2 billion to COVAX for the purchase of vaccines globally, and we plan to provide another $2 billion. This will provide access to vaccines to countries around the world, including El Salvador.
