TVA Starts Procurement of $2.2B Gas Power Plant at Old Tenn.

Tennessee Valley Authority will build new 1.5-GW gas-fired power plant in east Tennessee, announcing final decision April 2 to retire the 70-year-old Kingston coal-fired facility, despite EPA concerns on its environmental review.
