TEXAS —  Early voting wraps up Tuesday for Texas’s May 1 election. Voters are deciding on various issues across the state.
In Austin, voters will decide whether to repeal the ordinance allowing tents and camping. The city's decision to decriminalize camping drew strong criticism from residents, including Gov. Greg Abbott.
In San Antonio, there is a petition-driven initiative to repeal a state law that gives police officers collective bargaining rights. Activists say Chapter 174 results in cops who have been fired for wrongdoing getting back on the force.
