Alex Tudgey and Thomas Kyle are the junior and senior swimming champions respectively at Timaru Boys' High School. Tudgey took out titles in the 50, 100 and 200 metre freestyle events and the 50 metres backstroke while he was edged by the junior runner up Jack Boorer-Lilly in the 50 metre breaststroke in the annual event held on on Thursday at the school's outdoor pool. In the senior grade, competition was keen between Thomas Kyle, runner up William Tudgey and Benson Arnold. Arnold and William Tudgey performed well in the shorter course events with Arnold taking out the 50m freestyle and breaststroke while Tudgey prevailed in the open 50 metre butterfly. Kyle was dominant over the longer distances in sweeping the 100, 200 and 1500m freestyle events.
