For the second time in 13 months and the fourth time in American history, the Senate will hold an impeachment trial, and like many other people across the nation, SIUE political science faculty members Kenneth W. Moffett and Laurie L. Rice are wondering what will happen. Trump’s second impeachment came about mostly because of the attack on the U.S. Capitol by a pro-Trump mob on Jan. 6, but Trump’s political future is uncertain at this point.
