Created: April 16, 2021 05:16 PM (ABC 6 News) - Trout have returned to the waters of Austin’s Todd Park. Working alongside crews from the Cedar River Watershed District, the Minnesota DNR released hundreds of fish into Wolf Creek Friday morning. It’s attracting fishermen for the trout season opener this weekend. “I’m staying close to home. I’ve been looking at what the options are for trout. Not sure where to go,” said Steven Bessette of Owatonna. “I might come out here and see if I can get a fish or two.” “It’s about to create an opportunity for folks to be able to catch trout right in Austin whereas in the past they’d have to drive really far - upwards of 45 minutes to an hour to find a fishable trout stream,” said Watershed Technician James Fett.
