Tropical Storm Elsa dropped several inches of rain across Lee and Collier counties, and some residents are waiting to see if sheet flow will eventually flood their roads, ditches and even homes. The National Weather Service issued a flood warning for most of the region, from the Fort Myers area north to Tampa Bay. "We are aware because we’re so close to the slough we could see sheet flow kick in," said Amy Bollen, spokeswoman for the South Trail Fire and Rescue District. "We’re going to keep our eyes on it and we know that just because it’s raining right now it can get worse with any sheet flow."
