Trinidad and Tobago records its highest Covid-related death rate Trinidad and Tobago has recorded its highest Covid-related death rate since the start of the pandemic, with 11 deaths recorded on May 12th. According to data from the Centre of Systems Science and Engineering (CSSE) at John Hopkins University, the twin-island nation, have also seen a record 615 new Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours. These latest figures bring the number of confirmed cases to 14,417 and the official death toll to 235. Trinidad and Tobago has seen a spike in cases since April 24th. This week has seen many high-profile Covid-related deaths in Trinidad and Tobago, including two sisters who died within days of each other. The women have been named as Karen and Georgette Rawlins.
