WILMINGTON — As Widespread Panic officially launches Riverfront Park into action this weekend during its three-day stint, Live Nation announced another jamband icon, Trey Anastasio, will make his own debut in town this fall.
The Trey Anastasio Band will come through on Sept. 24.
Anastasio is best known as a founding member of Phish, which launched on the scene in the mid-’80s with extended improvisational jams, mixing and blending all genres of music, from jazz to rock, funk to reggae to psychedelia. Phish catapulted into fame with jam fans in the ’90s, and have released 11 studio albums and upward of 150 singles. The band has embarked on more than 1,500 shows in 30 years.
