caucus was held yesterday, but trump wasn't announced the winner until after midnight. it's the third straight nominating contest trump has won. the next test is super tuesday. senators ted cruz and marco rubio are still battling it out for second. >> we won the evangelicals. we won with young. we won with old. we won with highly educated. we won with poorly educated, i 46% with the hispanics. number one with the hispanics. >> one week from today will be the most important night of this campaign. one week from today is super tuesday. allyson: right now, ted cruz is holding trump off by a narrow margin in texas, but he leads rubio in the polls in florida. we're just days ahead of south carolina's democratic primary. presidential candidates hillary clinton and bernie sanders took stage at a town hall in columbia. hillary clinton: look, i believe every election or caucus has to be taken seriously. you have to work hard for every vote. that's what i'm going to be doing here in south carolina. i'm taking no vote, no place for granted. so, that is not how i think about it. i think that, you know, we have had a three contests. we have about 47 to go. and i'm going to work hard in each and every one of them. >> when i began, we were 3% in the polls. considered us a fringe campaign, never going to go anyplace. today in the national polls, we have closed the gap to single digits. actually, one poll had us ahead. allyson: clinton continues to campaign in south carolina today with events in west columbia and sumter. sanders heads to missouri and oklahoma. we're six days away from super tuesday. on this day, 12 states will have their say for the presidential nominations. here is the list of the states in which the democratic and republican primaries are held on the same day. they are alabama, arkansas, colorado, georgia, massachusetts, minnesota, oklahoma, tennessee, texas, vermont and virginia. republicans only are alaska, north dakota and wyoming caucuses. democrats only, american samoa caucus. some big news to tell you about. yesterday, president obama announced his plan to close the detention facility in guantanamo bay. they are less than 100 detainees at the facility. countries others eventually housed in a facility on u.s. soil. president obama: i think a lot of the american public are worried about terrorism and in their mind, the notion of having terrorists held in the united states rather than in some distant place can be scary. part of my message to the american people is, we are already holding a bunch of really dangerous terrorists here in the united states. geoff: a hard sell, the president acknowledges but he points to a number of other terrorists currently secured in federal prisons. the plan doesn't specify exactly where in the united states the remaining detainees would go. but south carolina is on the list of potential sites. if they come here, they would be moved to the naval brig in charleston. it is not far from charleston international airport. it is just off interstate 526. >> if you bring 30 to 60 enemy terrorists, you are also tracking their friends and supporters. so, you are putting a target on the back of a community. you are also going to have to upgrade a medium security facility, which will cost upwards of $100 million. geoff: governor nikki haley says she will fight the move to bring gitmo detainees to south carolina as well. allyson: dale, we could potentially see serious thunderstorms. dale: this system has been marching across the south. there is always the unknown of what it can do in your area. we're watching that this morning and right now, it is 46 degrees. it is foggy and cloudy in spartanburg as we look out from gibbs field. they will not be nonstop rain. we under flash flood watches. the upstate and mountains have already had over four inches of rain for the month. we have wind advisories in north carolina, flash flood watches for everybody, went advisories for the lower piedmont and midland. we are expecting breezy conditions at times today. by 7:30 we will have good thunderstorms rumbling from asheville back into northern greenville county. a good bit of that works its way to the east after the morning drive with scattered showers this afternoon. some snow is developing late tonight in the mountains of north carolina overnight into tomorrow morning, with cold air behind this system. that will cooling stuff for tomorrow. yesterday we remained in the 40's all day with a that wind. tomorrow it will clear up and be 48-53 right now greenville to anderson. 65 in elberton. we are expecting temperatures to be warmer today, reaching the low 60's in the mountains and upstate. it will be windy at times too. then, it will clear up and deal with a developer to sell the 2.8 acre site. the park has been on the market for about a year. new focus builders bought the land for $1.5 million. >> they have proven themselves in the community cancer since the age of 26. her tribute last month included hundreds of candles that were visible from sky 4 in her neighborhood. lindsey told her story publicly and encouraged others to be screened for the disease. she was just 29-years-old. allyson: to oconee county now. the mayor of seneca says that memorial cross on city property is not going anywhere. this cross was built into a stone wall outside seneca's water treatment plant. it's in memory of chuck keeler, who fell as he worked on the plant. the freedom from religion foundation out of wisconsin, says the memorial should be religiously neutral. the mayor released his statement which says, while i appreciate the concern that some may think endorsement by a public body of a certain religion, it is my opinion that this memorial and remembrance to life lost is anything but a religious endorsement. holly wild park wants to make improvements, but this can't happen without you. following a devastating fire, the park is at a crossroads without a commitment from the community. the park, which is a nonprofit, could be forced to close. the need to raise $500,000 in 2016. the park is never done a full-fledged fundraising but we are still under flash flood watches for all of the areas in green. we have high wind warnings out in western north carolina for today and tonight. in the midlands we can also see wind advisories. this is a big and powerful system and we still feet on a to watches for florida in two parts of georgia. as this system moves into the east, it will bring us heavy downpours and strong see rain and fog with temperatures reaching tomorrow, we will see temperatures much cooler. it will be just 42 in the mountains and 51 in the upstate. we are calming downwind wise over the weekend -- aly: good morning, guys. we are just about into asheville at this point. you can see the roads in front of me are soaking wet. we do not see a lot of rain right now, but we are expecting more. we will continue to give you updates on the roads. as of right now, it is not looking too bad. i would take a pretty easy out there just because they are so wet. the storm system coming our way we've the lot of damage behind you see here, an apartment complex in pensacola, florida three buildings were severely damaged. there were reports of injuries, people trapped, and a reported gas lake. everyone was evacuated. however, search and rescue operations are continuing into this morning. geoff: cleanup and recovery efforts are expected to begin in parts of southern louisiana. that were hit hard by strong thunderstorms and suspected tornados last night. at least two people died when a suspected tornado hit a mobile home park in st. james parish. more than two dozen others were injured. it's believed that more than 7 tornados swept through the area tuesday. texas. hail. night. it hit buildings and vehicles hard. a mark. protesters gathered in over a dozen cities across the country tuesday to protest the fbi's through iphone security. while the fbi says they want a one-time hack, many are worried that it could create a precedent that could compromise iphone security. apple has said they're willing to help law enforcement, but not if it means breaking its promise. allyson: president obama is expected to nominate a replacement for the late justice antonin scalia. but republicans on the senate judiciary committee say there will be no hearing on a nominee from the president. majority leader mitch mcconnell says the nominee should come from his successor. you may recall, scalia falcon 9 launch. the spacex rocket is attempting to put another telecommunications satellite into orbit. once the satellite is in orbit, the rocket will attempt a landing on a drone-ship. profile, showers and windy conditions are expected for the ride home. it will warm up to 63 for the afternoon. we will see temperatures in the 40's widespread over a good bit of the area. piedmont is in the 50's this morning. we have windy conditions a rain jacket is a good idea for today. we will continue to watch this system, that we are under flash flood watches and wind advisories all day today. we
