Police say 58yearold Keith Richardson shot and killed krijger during a standoff overnight monday. We spoke with officer jake clark, a k9 handler in norfolk. Clark was not there for the situation on land street and couldnt comment on what happened. However, he introduced us to his partner, basco, and talked to us about the bond they share. The department reached out to Norfolk Police to offer their condolences about krijger. The suspect in the norfolk shooting is still in the hospital this morning. As of yesterday, police say hes in critical condition. The hospital wont release an update, but were told Keith Richardson is expected to survive. A neighbor says the situation started after richardson found out his wife was cheating on him. Police say his wife called them and said he threatened to kill sevenhour standoff at his home on land street. A little before 1 30, police tried to use krijger to arrest richardson, but officers say he shot the dog. Richardsons neighbor says it was all self defense. Gene strickland, neighbor witness 53 1 14 theyd already busted into his house. He was trying to make sure his dogs were taken care car. He was trying to get the other one. When the police shot him in the leg. And then sticked the dogs on him. When he went down and the dog was all over him, thats when he took the gun and shot that dog. It was totally in self defense there. Richardson faces several charges including abduction, and use of a firearm in commission of a felony. Weve also learned he worked as a manager and firearms instructor at bobs gun shop in norfolk. A shop owner said because of the severity of the charges, richardson can never work there again. There are two sides to every story. The family of a chesapeake man, sentenced for a deadly bar fight, says the judges sentence was too justice was done. 10 on your side was in court when a judge put ronnie cisko behind bars for 14 years. 10 years for the death of chuck setchel. And four more for a probation violation. Cisko admitted he killed setchel during a fight in 2014 at zinos restaurant and bar. In court, cisko apologized and said he didnt mean to kill setchel. Crews found the bodies of a couple and their two Young Children at the scene. It happened late last night in northfield which is about 20 miles south of cleveland. A Norfolk State University student is among two men accused of robbing students on another campus. Officials say 21yearold nsu student Antoine Royster and 20yearold kahlia jackson, of portsmouth, robbed students at old dominion university, saturday. The pair reportedly had handguns when they demanded personal items from the victims. It happened just after 4 in the morning, in a dorm parking lot near killam avenue and 43rd street. Officials say odu Police Arrested the suspects within 10 minutes. Students say on campus. She admitted to taking more than 60 thousand dollars from her former employer. Leslie bradner was the bookkeeper at Temple Israel in norfolk for 16 years. She left the job in 2014. A couple months later an outside auditor noticed the missing money. The judge decided to suspend her jail time because bradners father paid the money back to the temple. She was employeed with the temple for 16 years her she was a member of the temple family and it is a real tragedy not only for the temple but for her and her family bradner got a 4 year sentence but the judge suspended it.
