we're going to have a mostly cloudy mild day. low to mid-70s. we'll have a few showers with the highest chance of that south and west of washington. the sunrise setting at 6:58. you can see on first alert doppler, the showers in the caroline's and virginia. west of the metro, everything is lifting -- first we've had some light showers coming through for the most part. at the moment, mainly dry in the district. dispatch of showers on the beltway coming through college park and berwin head up towards laurel and into howard county. colesville and clipping silver spring. back atfairfax, we have a couple of showers. this is going to head towards sterling. this is the heaviest stuff we're looking at from cross junction moving into eastern, western virginia. a lot more shower activity. more shower chances coming up in the 7-day. we'll have that in a few minutes. michael. now to our breaking news. more violence in a southeast dc neighborhood that has seen plenty. one man is dead and twos other in the hospital. police found three men with gunshot wounds just after midnight. they do not -- the opening of a new gun store in mcclain brought out angry parents and neighbors with signs and bull horns. >> but the owner says he has the right to be there. they were open for business friday. the problem, parents are unhappy that the shop is close to the sherman oakland school. it's hard to find a gun friendly landlord says the owner. >> it is what it is. i can't stop them and they're citing their right to free speech. we're exercising our right to carry and open up a little business where we can. >> they wanted the gun owner moved three blocks away from the school. coming up at 8:00, we're going to hear from the parents. pope francis just about to wrap up his trip to the united states this morning. he turned his focus to families last night in philadelphia. john -- dawn joining us, headed to the vatican. >> he'll take off to go home at 8:00. the pope has another busy day. he'll address bishops gathered from across the world, and he'll end his trip in a grand fashion with a huge outdoor mass. >> it was a star studded affair as the world leading of families festival in philadelphia saturday night. mark wahlberg hosted the event. but the biggest star of all was pope francis. francis spoke passionately about the need for families in today's society. >> we need families. let's protect the family, each family. that all future is at play. >> the pope did acknowledge he doesn't have a family of his own to deal with, and he shied away from the more sensitive topics. >> i [indiscernible]. >> earlier in the day, pope francis wasn't to independence hall where the colonial declared independence from britain and said the freedom declared in 1776 attracts people to america until this day. later this morning, the pope plans to visit 200 people at a nearby correctional facility. we're told that a million people could attend the mass. some people spent app. prince william animal county shelter is reopening today after a virus forced it to close their doors. today they'll have a fresh bill of health and a very special celebration. live in -- with more on that. good morning, saray. >>reporter: good morning. it's a joyous occasion. but the virus was so tragic here for the animal shelter, they had to put down some 70 cats due to this respiratory illness. i'll show you the healthy cats though. they have been tested. those results are going to come back in a few days, but they're showing all good signs. there's cats that have been isolated. we can't see them because they are showing a few signs of illness. they're a little sick right now, but the shelter is slowly recovering from this really tragic event. just some of the care takers so heart broken because this happened. at the same time as you mentioned, they are celebrated 40 years here in prince william county serving their community. it is also a chance for them to educate the public on things such as this deadly cat virus, also inform them on some important issues and some of the challenges they face these days serving their great community. we'll have much more in the through there in sterling. the showers hit dc. they're to the north of college park pulling in towards areas like -- headed towards columbia. there's the stuff in fairfax lifting towards the north, northeast pretty quickly, so they're short lived showered. the heaviest stuff to the west. wind chester seeing that activity. this is tracking up towards berkely springs. headed towards charleston, cable time and hagerstown. more than washington town than frederick town. we have a total lunar eclipse. a lot of clouds. it could be hard to see. happening around 8:30 to 10 :30. tomorrow, 79 with a few showers and a possible weather alert tuesday with showers and storms. highs closer to 80 degrees. after that, temperatures cool off wednesday. thursday, cool, 68. friday, a chance of shower s but people killed when the duck boat lost control and smashed into the side of a bus. 50 people injured. investigators are going to be looking into how the exceptionally wide duck boats can navigate the narrow lanes on the bridge where that crash occurred. people in the audience say it looked like a normal hit, but a new jersey high school quarterback died after getting injured on saturday night. murray walked off the field, and next thing you know, those in the audience said he was on the ground. he died a short-time later. murray was a great student at walton hills high school in new jersey. the cause of his death is unclear at this point. a reminder sunday morning, if your plans include riding metro. crews are working on five out of the six metro line. the orange, silver, and blue and yellow line trains will run every 24 minutes and the -- the green line is the only one that's operating as usual. first alert weather time. howard, take it away. >> mike, lots of clouds out there and showers. that's the case for today with a high of shower chances being west and south of town. we're looking at plenty of clouds and a couple of showers. highs today, likely in the mid-70s. we may get a degree or two warmer. it's not as breezy add yesterday. it was windy -- over 30 at times. we have 50s and low 60s in most of the year. 65 in patch river. 68 in reedville. and much of the shower activity to our west. we've had lighter showers coming through. you see them in fairfax and montgomery. everything lifting towards the north. we have wet streets. best chances for rain tuesday night. suit. and sears has the same deal, but customers will have to pay between 5 and $10 for the service. a lay away plan might be a good option to help you stay on budget and keep the holiday gifts from prying eyes at home. lester foster, wusa 9. in why money this morning, if you stayed in hilt on hotels, keep an eye on your bank and credit card accounts. there's a data beach. they believe it happened between july -- the hack could date back as far as november 2014. a reminder, hilt on owns a lot of hotel brand names like embassy, hampton inn. a huge recall alert for hyundai drivers. sonata has a dangerous engine problem. hyundai is going to fix it for free, and the company is recalling 2009-2011 -- a faulty light switch is the problem. minimum wage is set to hit $11 an hour this thursday, and the city is wrestling with the idea of raising it to $19 an hour over the next five years. the federal minimum wage is $7.25. the tsa is on track to set a record for the number of guns it has confiscated across the united states this year. that's one of the surprising items that passengers try to get passed security. advice van cleave reports. >>reporter: it took just two days to finger pointing begins on who is responsible for a deadly stampede that has killed more than 700. and john boehner sits down with his first interview after calling it quits. we're going to talk with winds at 10 to 15 miles-per-hour. mid-50s where we've seen showers. we'll look at that in a moment. 62 in dc. packs river -- we're watch ing everything lift south to north with a couple of lighter showers generally coming through washington. it's towards reynold county. another batch the showers coming in. we had it 40 minutes ago. you can see from prince -- over towards alexandria and mcclain, this is going to come through arlington and dc. fairfax, you're seeing a scattering of showers towards eastern latern and the heaviest rain near junction 522 headed towards berkeley springs and hancock. michael. thank you, howard. the animal shelter has been saving stray and neglected animals for more than 40 years. they have overcome recently a tragedy. we have more on their new start and a celebration. surae. >>reporter: yes, a new start. they are recovering slowly here. here are some of the cute animals that's up for adoption, and today the animal shelt certificate celebrating 40 years here in prince william county. the head care taker, talk about this exciting day. >> we're excited to open up our public and bring in veterinarians and rescue groups to show off what we have in this community to help animals find homes here. we're excited to have people tour the shelter and adopt animals from us. >> like this little guy, lucky. >> he's the best favorites. he's 12-year-old and female said. she's a sponsored home. she would like to get out of the shelter as soon as possible. >> you're inviting 12-4. >> there's lots of activity. we have a moon bounce and face painting. we have a photo booth going on and a micro chip going and we have rescue groups. they'll be raffles and there's a look-a-like contest, and a best trick contest and there's demonstrators like our k-9 improvement group. >> suzette, tell us how sad it was putting down animals. >> it was heart breaking. we care for these animals daily, and for this to happen, it was a rough week for the staff. we're in prince william animal shelter. surae chinn. >> thank you. one man is dead and two others in the hospital after an early morning shooting in southeast dc. around 12:30, police found three men with gunshot wounds on evans word. there's no word on a suspect in this case. last weekend, evans -- 22-year-old ryan anthony of german town has been charged with first-degree murder following a deadly hit-and-run of a pedestrian in marilyn. he admitted to intentionally hitting 21-year-old dean mcdonald. they said the knew each other. >> investigators believe there were some working relationship where mr. salandey may have had music or produced music and mr. mcdonald may have been formatting it for him. investigators believes there may have been some dispute over that exchange or transaction. >> salandey is being held without bond for first-degree murder. two dozen kids have died in hot cars. now a denver mother is trying to stop that from happening. she believes she has developed a way to avoid these tragedies. with three young boys and another on the way, hodges put together a steering wheel cover to remind drivers to check the backseat for little ones. >> i was trying to think of something cute and simple to remind parents that their children are in the car. >> she has a kick starter campaign. there's memorable things on the steering wheel. thousands are returns as the hodge islamic pilgrimage comes to an end. >> this year's hodge which -- include -- it led to an escalation of intentions across the union. john has more on this last day of worship. >>reporter: over county through -- wilson bridge looks clear. and also national harbor and coming towards northeast arlington and into downtown. fairfax county, we have showers coming towards spring field and also approaching tyson and western part of the country -- towards sterling if -- sterling and this is lifting. spotty showers. the heaviest stuff, i said it a moment ago at 522, north of winchester moving up towards 881. these areas out to the west. this is the heaviest stuff we're seeing. cross junction, north berkeley springs, this is headed your way. washington county will have to watch out. light showers -- over to peceville frederick county is cloudy. occasional showers mainly west and south of town. we'll get to the 7-day in a moment. temperatures in the low to mid-70s for highs with a northeasterly wind at 5 to 10 miles-per-hour. if we're lucky, we'll see the lunar eclipse. it will have an orange look to the moon. maximizing or maximum 10:47 and total eclipse at 11:21 before that was used last night was transformed by workers working through the evening hours. that stage has been transformed into an alter and that alter is going to stand as a front of this parkway. he'll be able to look all the way down and that's why people are out here and celebrating songs and joy so early. they're so excited for the mass led by their holy father. many were able to get a glimpse of him yesterday and they only want more. a very exciting day here in philadelphia. he's going to start with a visit to a seminary and he's going to visit a philadelphia prison which is -- we have cameras inside. that's going to be an interesting thing to look at. there has been a loss of anticipation here. we're here on the parkway where excitement is building for those who is ready to see the holy father. in the ben franklin parkway. mike, back to you. >> i hope you can hear me with the chanting and singing. there was one estimate that upwards of 1 million people may see this mass. does that sound right? >> you know what, yesterday they were still saying -- they were saying 5 million. we thought that was bold during the preparatory stages, but as yesterday went on, we saw more and more people come to this city. that's something that everybody did not anticipate. so whether that will happen today, i guess we'll have to say. judging from the crowd we're seeing now, i think i saw maybe 3 dozen people sleeping out in the parkway yesterday. so if this is any indication what today is going to be, it's going to be busy, but very joyous. >> off live in philadelphia for us this thorough investigators do not know if the boats were already damaged before the collision with this charter bus. carter evans has more. >>reporter: witnesses say the ride the ducks boat had a mechanical problem with the wheel before the driver lost control and went into a tour bus. tim snapped this picture. >> just as i was doing that, i felt the back of the vehicle start to fishtail and as i turned my head, i heard the driver say "oh, no." >> katie moody was ones also on the duck boat. >> i remember waking up on the freeway and i saw people running towards us. >> people, you know, that got stuck in the accident, all of a sudden, like every good samaritan do, they came to help. >> seeing good people is amazing. >> investigating will look at how the duck boat navigate the roads where the accident occurred. all of the passengers on the bus were foreign exchange students attending -- earl is with the tsnb. >> we're investigated in the crash. >> the company who owns the duck boat asked for all inspections but they have -- a shocker in a house of the us representatives this week. today on face the nation, john boehner on his decision to step down from the house speaker look more and more likely because of the rift in the republican party. >> when i looked at my questions that i've been preparing for a week and a half, the first one was, how long are you going to stay and would you go out on a high note after the pope's visit. so there was discussion about when he would leave the congress, but no one was expecting this timing. >> mr. boehner known as a catholic. it doesn't get better than this. i might as well step down. >> exactly. as one of his friends said, it's a good time to drop the mic. >> that's what we thought too. what about the person who is likely to take his place? from some of your reporting, he's more liberal than bain ear. >> mcarthy -- this congressman said that mcarthy is no conservative, but they said this is a management job, so giving the conservatives more room is something that mcarthy might be able to do even if he doesn't share all of their positions. once you give the conservatives more room, you lose those of the our future. mike. how. police are investigating a fatal shooting in southeast dc. at around 12:30 this morning, police found three men with gunshot wounds on elvin's road. last week, elvin's road was a scene of a homicide. pope francis is wrapping up his 3-city tour of the city. he turned his focus on the family last night at a huge event in philadelphia. dawn champion joins us live with the latest from the city of brotherly love where francis wraps up his trip today. dawn. >>reporter: it was a star studded affair as the family leading festival on saturday night. mark wahlberg led the officer using a taser on a suspect. police tells us the man was arrested on a larceny charge, and that he refused medical treatment after being tased. the department is investigating the officer's use of the taser. prince william county say that reed killed her wood bridge roommate after a domestic incident. warren was found dead friday at the home they shared. he was stabbed. wright was suffering from self inflected wounds and taken to the hospital. parents and neighbors protesting now, the opening of a new gun store in mcclain. >> the issue, the store is located only a few feet away from an elementary school. a nova firearms opened for business on saturday. it's just around the corner from the franklin elementary school. the store is legally allowed to be open, but the parents are concerned about their kid's safety. >> they're exercising their right to free speech, and we're exercising our right to carry and open up a legal business where we can. >> the gun store used to be located 3 blocks away from a school. police in german town said a man admitted to intentionally hitting another man with his car in clarksburg. 22-year-old ryan anthony was charged with murder. he struck and killed mac daniel. sandy and mcdaniel were involved in an argument over a business. a fire near a pep -- montgomery county firefighters used five engines, three tankers and four brush trucks to bring this fire under control. they were dousing the fire around midnight and no one was hurt. several concert goers were injured after several people rushed the stage. nine people are in the hospital. witnesses tell cbs station in phoenix that the people were trampled on the unrurally crowd. parents were trying to find their children. >> she got stomped on and her best friend tried to hold her. when she called me, she said i needed to hurry up and get over here or else the ambulance was going to take her away. >> the organizers shut the music f and they directed people to the exits. taking a closer look at the inter workings of an animal shelter. >> the prince -- they're opening their doors to give you a like. surae chinn is live. hi, surae. >>reporter: hello, good morning. that's right. they do do a lot of things i had no idea such as training. we have the trainer here at the prince william county animal shelter. who do we have and who are you going to share? >> this is a 10-year-old boxer released by the owner, and to get her out and about, we try to run them through our agility course. >> tell us what you're doing? >> we're bathing the dog. >> how do you try to control and make them listen? >> just with my voice and hand signals and we go slow. this is the first time she goes on the agility course. >> wow! this is risky here. >> good job. sit. yes. worried about their safety, this mother and daughter agreed to talk to us without revealing their name. >> how much money -- >> they're victims of a scam called virtual kidnapping. >> he said i have your brother and he had a blow to the head and bleeding out. >> the kidnapper demanded thousands of dollars to return him. >> my brother is going to shoot this guy. >> agent erik says several organizations use these scams to make money. >> thousands of dollars in ransom. and you're talking about a criminal organization that is capable of doing more than one kidnapping at a time. >> the perpetrators use social media to research their victims, paying close attention to where they live, places they commonly visit and connected friends. the fbi seen an increase in places like new york, nevada, texas, and california. this family never paid money. minutes after hanging up, they were able to get in touch with their loved ones. >> family is family, and when someone plays a game with your family, it's hard to forget. >> cbs news, los angeles. now, the fbi says criminal prosecution of these cases is unlikely because the cell numbers they're calling from are often untraceable. authorities say if you get one of these calls, contact police immediately. there's a prison program that's giving dogs a get out of jail free -- it's aimed at training shelter dogs in ohio. the goal is to get dogs adopted. sometime women training the dogs are serving life sentences while some are serving time for less violent time. >> when you're locked up, it's hard to have too many emotions towards people you don't know, and it's hard to get close to people, but when you have a dog, you have a bond that's for life. >> the dogs live in the cells with their trainer. the program works on chances, not that high overall, but some of you, your morning is going to be damp and it looks like the sun pattern will be with us for -- lighter rain showers coming through the metro. for today, we're going to have a mostly cloudy mild day. low to mid-70s. we'll have a few showers with the highest chance of that south and west of washington. the sunrise setting at 6:58. you can see on first alert doppler, the showers in the caroline's and virginia. west of the metro, everything is lifting -- first we've had some light showers coming through for the most part. at the moment, mainly dry in the district. dispatch of showers on the beltway coming through college park and berwin head up towards laurel and into howard county. colesville and clipping silver spring. back atfairfax, we have a couple of showers. this is going to head towards sterling. this is the heaviest stuff we're looking at from cross junction moving into eastern, western virginia. a lot more shower activity. more shower chances coming up in the 7-day. we'll have that in a few minutes. michael. now to our breaking news. more violence in a southeast dc neighborhood that has seen plenty. one man is dead and twos other in the hospital. police found three men with gunshot wounds just after midnight. they do not -- the opening of a new gun store in mcclain brought out angry parents and neighbors with signs and bull horns. >> but the owner says he has the right to be there. they were open for business friday. the problem, parents are unhappy that the shop is close to the sherman oakland school. it's hard to find a gun friendly landlord says the owner. >> it is what it is. i can't stop them and they're citing their right to free speech. we're exercising our right to carry and open up a little business where we can. >> they wanted the gun owner moved three blocks away from the school. coming up at 8:00, we're going to hear from the parents. pope francis just about to wrap up his trip to the united app. prince william animal county shelter is reopening today after a virus forced it to close their doors. today they'll have a fresh bill of health and a very special celebration. live in -- with more on that. good morning, saray. >>reporter: good morning. it's a joyous occasion. but the virus was so tragic here for the animal shelter, they had to put down some 70 cats due to this respiratory illness. i'll show you the healthy cats though. they have been tested. those results are going to come back in a few days, but they're showing all good signs. there's cats that have been isolated. we can't see them because they are showing a few signs of illness. they're a little sick right now, but the shelter is slowly recovering from this really tragic event. just some of the care takers so heart broken because this happened. at the same time as you mentioned, they are celebrated 40 years here in prince william county serving their community. it is also a chance for them to educate the public on things such as this deadly cat virus, also inform them on some important issues and some of the challenges they face these days serving their great community. we'll have much more in the through there in sterling. the showers hit dc. they're to the north of college park pulling in towards areas like -- headed towards columbia. there's the stuff in fairfax lifting towards the north, northeast pretty quickly, so they're short lived showered. the heaviest stuff to the west. wind chester seeing that activity. this is tracking up towards berkely springs. headed towards charleston, cable time and hagerstown. more than washington town than frederick town. we have a total lunar eclipse. a lot of clouds. it could be hard to see. happening around 8:30 to 10 :30. tomorrow, 79 with a few showers and a possible weather alert tuesday with showers and storms. highs closer to 80 degrees. after that, temperatures cool off wednesday. thursday, cool, 68. friday, a chance of shower s but happened between july -- the hack could date back as far as november 2014. a reminder, hilt on owns a lot of hotel brand names like embassy, hampton inn. a huge recall alert for hyundai drivers. sonata has a dangerous engine problem. hyundai is going to fix it for free, and the company is recalling 2009-2011 -- a faulty light switch is the problem. minimum wage is set to hit $11 an hour this thursday, and the city is wrestling with the idea of raising it to $19 an hour over the next five years. the federal minimum wage is $7.25. the tsa is on track to set a record for the number of guns in prince william animal shelter. surae chinn. >> thank you. one man is dead and two others in the hospital after an early morning shooting in southeast dc. around 12:30, police found three men with gunshot wounds on evans word. there's no word on a suspect in this case. last weekend, evans -- 22-year-old ryan anthony of german town has been charged with first-degree murder following a deadly hit-and-run of a pedestrian in marilyn. he admitted to intentionally hitting 21-year-old dean mcdonald. they said the knew each other. >> investigators believe there were some working relationship where mr. salandey may have had music or produced music and mr. mcdonald may have been formatting it for him. investigators believes there may have been some dispute over that exchange or transaction. >> salandey is being held without bond for first-degree murder. two dozen kids have died in hot cars. now a denver mother is trying to stop that from happening. she believes she has developed a way to avoid these tragedies. with three young boys and another on the way, hodges put together a steering wheel cover to remind drivers to check the backseat for little ones. >> i was trying to think of something cute and simple to remind parents that their children are in the car. >> she has a kick starter campaign. there's memorable things on the steering wheel. thousands are returns as the hodge that was used last night was transformed by workers working through the evening hours. that stage has been transformed into an alter and that alter is going to stand as a front of this parkway. he'll be able to look all the way down and that's why people are out here and celebrating songs and joy so early. they're so excited for the mass led by their holy father. many were able to get a glimpse of him yesterday and they only want more. a very exciting day here in philadelphia. he's going to start with a visit to a seminary and he's going to visit a philadelphia prison which is -- we have cameras inside. that's going to be an interesting thing to look at. there has been a loss of anticipation here. we're here on the parkway where excitement is building for those who is ready to see the that sound right? >> you know what, yesterday they were still saying -- they were saying 5 million. we thought that was bold during the preparatory stages, but as yesterday went on, we saw more and more people come to this city. that's something that everybody did not anticipate. so whether that will happen today, i guess we'll have to say. judging from the crowd we're seeing now, i think i saw thorough investigators do not know if the boats were already damaged before the collision with this charter bus. carter evans has more. >>reporter: witnesses say the ride the ducks boat had a mechanical problem with the wheel before the driver lost control and went into a tour bus. tim snapped this picture. >> just as i was doing that, i felt the back of the vehicle start to fishtail and as i turned my head, i heard the driver say "oh, no." >> katie moody was ones also on the duck boat. >> i remember waking up on the freeway and i saw people running towards us. >> people, you know, that got stuck in the accident, all of a sudden, like every good samaritan do, they came to help. >> seeing good people is amazing. >> investigating will look at how the duck boat navigate the roads is likely to take his place? from some of your reporting, he's more liberal than bain ear. >> mcarthy -- this congressman said that mcarthy is no conservative, but they said this is a management job, so giving the conservatives more room is something that mcarthy might be able to do even if he doesn't share all of their positions. once you give the conservatives more room, you lose those of the our future. mike. how. police are investigating a fatal shooting in southeast dc. at around 12:30 this morning, police found three men with gunshot wounds on elvin's road. last week, elvin's road was a scene of a homicide. pope francis is wrapping up his 3-city tour of the city. he turned his focus on the family last night at a huge event in philadelphia. dawn champion joins us live with the latest from the city of brotherly love where francis wraps up his trip today. dawn. >>reporter: it was a star studded affair as the family leading festival on saturday night. mark wahlberg led the officer using a taser on a suspect. police tells us the man was arrested on a larceny charge, and that he refused medical treatment after being tased. the department is investigating the officer's use of the taser. prince william county say that reed killed her wood bridge roommate after a domestic incident. warren was found dead friday at the home they shared. he was stabbed. wright was suffering from self inflected wounds and taken to the hospital. parents and neighbors protesting now, the opening of a new gun store in mcclain. >> the issue, the store is located only a few feet away from an elementary school. a nova firearms opened for business on saturday. it's just around the corner from the franklin elementary school. the store is legally allowed to be open, but the parents are concerned about their kid's safety. >> they're exercising their right to free speech, and we're exercising our right to carry and open up a legal business where we can. >> the gun store used to be located 3 blocks away from a school. police in german town said a man admitted to intentionally hitting another man with his car in clarksburg. 22-year-old ryan anthony was charged with murder. he struck and killed mac daniel. sandy and mcdaniel were involved in an argument over a business. a fire near a pep -- montgomery county firefighters used five engines, three tankers and four brush trucks to bring this fire under control. they were dousing the fire around midnight and no one was hurt. several concert goers were injured after several people rushed the stage. nine people are in the hospital. witnesses tell cbs station in phoenix that the people were trampled on the unrurally crowd. parents were trying to find their children. >> she got stomped on and her best friend tried to hold her. when she called me, she said i needed to hurry up and get over here or else the ambulance was going to take her away. >> the organizers shut the music f and they directed people to the >> this is a 10-year-old boxer released by the owner, and to get her out and about, we try to run them through our agility course. >> tell us what you're doing? >> we're bathing the dog. >> how do you try to control and make them listen? >> just with my voice and hand signals and we go slow. this is the first time she goes on the agility course. >> wow! this is risky here. >> good job. sit. yes. good. yes. >> not bad. not bad. >> on, on. and >> and you're going to be doing a demonstration later on today during the -- >> yes, ma'am. >> during the open house. >> we're going to be demonstrating our agility dog training. they're start from 10:30 to 9:00. we're going to have students in the class on tuesday and thursdays, demonstrating what they have learn. they have come so far and it makes a huge difference. the dogs turned into the shelter will not come in. they stay with their owners. >> if you could give one advice to dog owners who would like to have more obedient dogs, what would you tell the owner? >> come to our class. >> how do you get to know your dog? >> with a lot of play and a lot of controlled play, and of course obedience, establishing leadership, it's very important. and to -- going to the obstacle course builds a nice bond with your animal, and then socialization is important. >> you offer free train ing at the prince wilam county shelter. one of the many things they cruise ship. it was 55 miles north of north carolina shoreline. when the call came in armor an 80-year-old woman suffering from head trauma. she was airlifted to duke university hospital where she's yesterday after afternoon. with luck, we'll see that again. we're due for a lunar eclipse coupled with a super moon. the moon looks larger than it aushly is. if-- it begins after 8:00. it last for an hour or two. the next eclipse isn't going to happen until 2033. nasa is going to stream it. clouds are hanging tough. as we check it out on first alert doppler, well, not the clouds, but you're looking at the rain drops showing up here on first alert doppler. everything is mostly south to north and maybe northeast. we've had light showers coming through. these are nuisance sprinkles that we're dealing with. a couple of light ones here in southwestern prince, georgia county. we see it out of the arlington area from the pentagon coming through capitol hill and through college park and prince george park. most has lifted north of 50 towards the beltway. vw parkway. pullsville, german town, ááclarksberge, light showers for you. it's going to lift towards carroll county. here in west virginia, coming up 5:22 out of cross junction towards berkeley springs. this stuff moving towards clear spring. west of hagerstown make it to hancock. for those in frederick county, it has been cloudy, but dry. we'll see clouds today, a couple of showers here and there. mid-70s. and looks like the clouds are going to hang tough. here's the future cast. by lunch time, not that much green on pope wraps up his trip in the united states, some businesses are using coins, cut outs and bobble heads. and one man turned his bobble head company into a pop up pope visit. >> since the pope has been announced we have been -- >> time, the number one best selling bobble head on amazon, the pope bobble head of course. the fbi is warning the public about something called virtually kidnapping. criminals call people claiming they have abducted a love one, and then they demand ransom. several cities are seeing an increase. reya met one company -- >> i actually believed them. >>reporter: still worried about their safety, this mother and daughter agreed to talk to us without revealing their name. >> how much money -- >> they're victims of a scam called virtual kidnapping. >> he said i have your brother and he had a blow to the head and bleeding out. >> the kidnapper demanded thousands of dollars to return him. >> my brother is going to shoot this guy. >> agent erik says several organizations use these scams to make money. >> thousands of dollars in ransom. and you're talking about a criminal organization that is capable of doing more than one kidnapping at a time. >> the perpetrators use social media to research their victims, paying close attention to where they live, places they commonly visit and connected friends. the fbi seen an increase in places like new york, nevada, texas, and california. this family never paid money. minutes after hanging up, they were able to get in touch with their loved ones. >> family is family, and when someone plays a game with your family, it's hard to forget. >> cbs news, los angeles. now, the fbi says criminal prosecution of these cases is unlikely because the cell numbers they're calling from are often untraceable. authorities say if you get one of these calls, contact police immediately. there's a prison program that's giving dogs a get out of jail free -- it's aimed at training shelter dogs in ohio. the goal is to get dogs adopted. sometime women training the dogs are serving life sentences while some are serving time for less violent time. >> when you're locked up, it's hard to have too many emotions towards people you don't know, and it's hard to get close to people, but when you have a dog, you have a bond that's for life. >> the dogs live in the cells with their trainer. the program works on finding homes for dogs who are hard to place. if you could be a super hero for a day, who would you? >> superman. >> superman? >> batman, the car. kids in madison wisconsin are taking part this weekend in the super hero camp. they went through test including a rope training and martial arts training. >> it's more of a bonding opportunity for the kids to get together and do something fun with
