believed to have been shot in the abdomen area. a spokesperson tells me he was at least talking and conscious as they rushed him stephanie ramirez, wusa9. >> thank you. moving on an arlington, virginia man is charged with arson in connection with an apartment fire. that two alarm fire happened saturday morning in the 5500 block of columbia pike. police say 27-year-old demetrius taylor deliberately set that fire after an argument with a woman. they say he then pushed an infant in a stroller towards that fire before running away. the baby wasn't hurt. tonight taylor is held without bond on several serious charges including felony arson, child endangerment and assault on law enforcement. he also faces misdemeanor charges of assault and battery. switching gears now, enjoy tonight because it's going to be a little bit of a rough start to the workweek. let's find out about that from first alert meteorologist howard bernstein. >> could be a lot of that with the way things are shaping up, showers and southeast of town. tonight we're seeing clouds thicken up from the west. some showers made it into the mountain, generally light. looking at them on first alert doppler, when you see the light greens there should be light rain showers. a little yellow and darker green is just south of 70 east of hancock. so this is moving off toward the east. we're also seeing a couple yellow areas, so moderate showers moving east towards mathias and over to baker a couple showers there. futurecast shows the increase in showers tonight especially in the mountains earlier. overnight we'll see a few more showers. don't be surprised to wake to some wet streets. you may need some extra time tomorrow morning. if we can get through the morning commute without too much going on, it won't last because by mid-morning towards lunchtime, early afternoon, heavy downpours here. we could have some flooding rains, maybe strong to severe storms where it's a little warmer down toward the south and east. by later evening we'll start to say good- bye to this, but a rough start to the week. yellow weather alert monday and when we come back, we'll talk about our storm chances in the seven-day forecast. at times italy just going to be an unsettled -- it's just going to be an unsettled week. a tornado tore through tulsa, oklahoma, trapping at least25 people in three restaurants. diners were asked that tgi friday's there, when the tornado hit trapping them inside. >> they were eating when the storm came through and dispatch started getting calls of people trapped in restaurants because the roofs started collapsing in on them. >> last night's storms are also blamed for several fires in the tulsa area. tonight in addition to structural damage, tulsa residents are also dealing with a number of power outages, downed trees and power lines. clean-up near that sinkhole in land o'lakes, florida, has come to a screeching halt tonight because the sinkhole is it swallowed two homes a few weeks ago. now an 80-foot long section of that sinkhole has collapsed and contractors are reporting new cave-ins under a home that was being demolished. pasco county officials say they notified homeowners about the movement, but they say at this point they aren't calling for more evacuations. in japan hundreds of protesters gathered around the peace memorial park in hiroshima to protest a visit by japanese prime minister shinzo abe. the demonstrators are protesting against war and revision of japan's constitution and are also calling for abe to step down. today's protest comes during ceremonies marking the 72nd anniversary of the u.s. bombing of hiroshima. the bombing destroyed the city but caused japan to surrender to allied forces bringing an end to toward war ii. prime minister abe delivered a speech to 50,000 people at the economy racing fire breaks out at another skyscraper in dubai, the second skyscraper fire there in three days. this morning's fire started on a balcony and was quickly put out. friday a fire ripped through one of the world's tallest residential towers in dubais forcing hundreds of people to flee for safety as burning debris showered down the sides of that more than 1,000-foot hightower. president trump spending the next two weeks at his golf resort in new jersey, but back at the white house workers are ask for it. >> make it happen. >> let me ask you for a nice day tomorrow. >> can't do it. >> i tried. >> we'll get some rain tomorrow, maybe heavy rain at times and a threat if you're south and east of town of potentially strong to severe thunderstorms. let's get to it, lots going on right now. in evening not too bad, -- this evening not too bad, clouds and showers towards the midnight hour, 70s, in the 60s d 70s. the mugginess is coming back and tomorrow get ready for a rough start to the week. showers and storms on and off all day. some of these will be locally heavy with the downpours and potentially severe, but look at the temps, low to mid-70s. i'm only go77 tomorrow at national airport for the high. a lot of areas won't get out of the low 70s. tomorrow's morning commute is moderate to high. i think the p.m. commute wit -- will be the worst. flooding is a moderate risk tomorrow with heavy downpours and damaging winds is low, but if you get into one of those strong storms south and east of town, it could happen. right now 81. we hit 83, 70s in many areas and still 60s, been a very cool weekend up in the mountains of western maryland. if you know somebody that went to deep creek lake, not the warmest by any stretch for august. the dew points are creeping back up with southerly winds and we're watching moving in. showers and light winds in the mountains and heavier storms down toward western kentucky and tennessee. that moisture is all moving this direction and this warm front is also moving in our direction. so there's a lot of things coming together for stop heavy rain at times monday. futurecast shows drier air pulling away. showers tonight, first starting out to the west. they'll be scattered overnight, really picking up tomorrow morning. if we're lucky, we get through the bulk of the commute not too bad. by mid to late morning and lunchtime heavy rains in spots. it could be raining an inch an hour or more. we've got a lot of moisture that will be in the atmosphere. this will be with us through much of the afternoon before starting to taper off toward evening and by tomorrow night the front sags south, drier air building in and tuesday looks a lot better. the severe weather threat south and east of town, southern maryland, the northern neck, looks like stafford south through fredericksburg, spotsylvania and over toward the eastern shore, damaging winds, some hail, isolated tornado. i don't think hail is as much of a risk damaging winds and isolated tornado threat and as much as 3 to 4 inches of rain in spots. we will watch this. this is all for national airport, but you get the idea, heavy rains potentially on monday, 65 to 70 tonight with showers and storms developing. yellow weather alert, 69 to 74 in the morning and you may need extra time both in the morning and the afternoon, some locally heavy rains possible. temps stay the in the 70s on monday. tuesday less humid, becoming partly sunny, 83, nice on wednesday, 84. by thursday isolated storms and the nats are still in town and preseason football up at m&t with the burgundy and gold and the ravens and then more unsettled weather friday, saturday and sunday, could be a tough homestand for the nats. what do you think?
