And the humidity is high. But i want to show you the difference in temperatures, on either side of 95. 75 at andrews. And 78 here in dc. And 77 in frederick. And to the south of that, look how temperatures jump up into the 80s. There is a little boundary here that is separating the cloud cover, from the sunny skies. And the sunshine that you are seeing, in manassas, culpepper front royal, leesburg right now, generally makes its way further north and east later this afternoon. And that sets the stage for our atmosphere to destabilize, and that allows for energy, when thunderstorms approach the area, to really get going and fire up. So at the moment, first alert [000 21 59;00] is going to be the next wave we are watching for later today. And we are going to see thunderstorms forming along this area of low pressure. They are going to zoom down to the south and east. Towards us. And you can already see a couple of thunrstorms, in pennsylvania, where we may see some of the shower activity around the i81 corridor, a little later this afternoon. But the main time frame, it comes in this evening. Currently the Storm Prediction Center has us in an enhanced risk of Severe Weather. There will be scattered storms that will have the potential to become strong or severe later today. More than just the general Severe Weather. In terms of the impact, danging winds and heavy rain that we are damaging winds and heavy rain that we are focused on for this evening. There will be some imbedded thunderstorms with large hail possible. And an isolated tornado also cannot be ruled out. But the strong Straight Line winds and heavy rain is going to be what most people feel the effects from, these storms, with. And all right, the future cast, it breaks through the clouds and continues to progress through the evening and and watch what happens from there, as we get to 6 00, 7 00, 8 00. A broken line of storms approaching the i81 corridor and that races to the east with heavy rainfall and gusty winds along it, as well. And metro time frame, it is going to be 8 00 p. M. , through about midnight, and 7 00 p. M. , is when we start to see out toward the i81 corridor. And here we are 9 00, to 10 00, right over the i95 corridor. And watch out for the heavy rainfall. It is going to come down at a good rate. It will last for a while. And that could lead to ponding, and standing water on the roadways, and an isolated cases, flash flooding as well. Now, even though our Severe Weather threat comes to an end, after about midnight tonight, a Flash Flood Watch is going to continue through tomorrow morning. And we will see that potential for some heavy rainfall, continuing through the overnight hours. And now, past all of this, we are going to get the sunshine in here, by your fathers day weekend.
