during an interview with bloomberg news. the u.s. state department later said north korea would have to before talks could be planned. cia director mike pompeo is in south korea right now to discuss tensions with the north, and the pentagon has positioned the aircraft carrier in the region. a warning from the u.s. government to americans traveling in europe this summer. the state department has issued a new terrorism alert for the continent through september 1st, and they cite recent attacks in france, sweden, and great britain. the previous terror alert for europe expired in february. today is may 1st, but it's also known as mayday, international workers day. it's a day when union members traditionally march for workers rights in countries -- around the country in the world. calling for such thing as better pay and working conditions. here in the u.s., it's become a rallying cry for immigrants since these massive demonstrations in 2006 against a proposed immigration enforcement bill. in cities across the country for strikes, boycotts, and marches were plan to protest the immigration policy. in minneapolis, the immigrants several rallies today. this one outside a home depot to put the spotlight on low- wage workers to demand better pay and fair workloads. one of the biggest marches was in los angeles. thousands marching city hall. all denouncing trump immigration policies that they claim separate immigration from their children. security forces in france used tear gas to control protesters who turned violent at a march in paris. many of the demonstrators used protest to call on voters that blocked far right. a stabbing spree at the university of texas. one person is dead, three others in the hospital, and the suspect is in custody. he's identified as kendricks white, a student there. one witness says she saw him walking calmly around the campus and suddenly police say he went up to a victim, grabbed him by the shoulder, and stabbed him in the back. the university has canceled classes and events on campus for the rest of the day. and then in dallas, more breaking news. shootings there. police responded to a call and they found a man wounded. a paramedic began treating the victim, but the alleged gunman showed up and shot the paramedic. that initial victim and the paramedic are in the hospital right now. police also found two bodies inside a nearby home and they believe one of them is the suspect who shot himself. we don't know who the second person is just yet, but police believe this all started as a dispute between two neighbors. an argument between husband and wife goes too far. authorities say one of them set fire to their stafford county house. both of them had to be taken to the hospital to be treated for burns. take a listen to an eyewitness it's a higher risk of severe weather north of town. here is the radar. this is what we have been watching the past several hours now. storms have developed on the east side of i-81 pushing through charlottesville. in fact, these are racing up to the north and east. over the last few frames, you see more red and more deep orange. that means they are intensifying a bit. in fact, severe thunderstorm warning south of charlottesville. we will track these because we know these have the history of being severe with winds over 60 miles per hour. closer to town, a few showers went through frederick headed toward pennsylvania. these warrenton and southwest of warrenton. pretty heavy. a little more lightning showing up just south of culpeper. these moving off to the south -- to the northeast about 55. in terms of how high they are, as high as 25, 30000 feet. that's not always an indication how severe storms can be. generally, higher in the atmosphere, the more intense the storms. these moving off to the north and east. warrenton could see a strong storm at 6:39. so severe thunderstorms possible till midnight. hail, damaging winds, isolated tornadoes. we are worried
