with the trump administration  to help the country move forward. >> at my core, i think we're going to be okay. >> reporter: weijia jiang, cbs news the white house. >> in addition to writing a book, president barack obama says he'll raise money for his presidential library. he also says he'll try to avoid commenting on politics on a daily basis. when president-elect donald trump takes office on friday he'll do so with historically low voter approval. the cbs news poll shows mr. trump with the lowest approval rating of any incoming president in the poll's 36 year history. president-elect dismissed the news taking to twitter to say the same people who did the phony election polls that were so wrong are now doing approval rating polls. they are rigged just like before. today mr. trump tweeted out a picture with a caption, writing my inaugural address. looking forward to friday, he trump will attend two dinners in washington. one of them honoring mike pence. the other honoring his cabinet nominees. president-elect trump is personally inviting people to attend the inaugural festivities in washington. he appears in an ad posted on facebook and twitter encouraging people to attend tomorrow night's inaugural welcome concert and friday's swearing in ceremony. the president-elect has been tweeting his inauguration will bring record numbers of poo ohm to washington. dc's department of homeland security is planning for 800,000 to 900,000 people. that's far short of the 1.8 million who attended president barack obama's first inauguration. security is tight ahead of downtown -- in downtown dc ahead of the inauguration. parking restrictions went into effect at noon today. two trucks started hauling away vehicles parked in those no parking zones. the road closures near federal triangle, pennsylvania avenue, memorial bridge and lincoln memorial tonight. and travel restrictions take effect at 7:00 tomorrow morning in the secure areas of downtown dc. we can help you find your way around. just download our wusa9 app. it's free and we've got you covered. the south florida man charged with threatening to kill president-elect donald trump. miami beach police say 51-year- old dominic guapalo admitted to posting the video on his twitter account saying he'd be in washington for the inauguration and would kill the president-elect while he was there. he's being held without bail. we're also learning more about the massive anti-trump demonstrations that promise to bring more than 100,000 protesters to washington. >> activists are prepared for arrests and heated confrontations. delia goncalves is live to tell us more. >> reporter: this is kind of like ground zero for the movement that will be happening on inauguration day. there'lle on that day at 2:00, it already seems like this is a meeting point for a lot of protesters. when we got here at 4:00 we ran into a group picture. passing out this flyer. sizable group of protesters here. they're heading to capitol hill right now. on friday the group we're going to see a lot of different people. folks from black lives matter movement and from standing rock. many who say they want to remain peaceful but are prepared for any violence. >> dear terrorists. hope you go to jail or get executed for treason. only cowards go into hiding after they've be outed. >> the text messages -- >> by the way it's happening again like just while i'm speaking to you this call. this has happened all the time. >> the phone calls. >> i'm not intimidated by any of this. i hope there's not some crazy person out there who, you know, acts upon these ideas. >> if you run into a supporter and i'm sure you , down? what's the conversation with a trump supporter? >> i would say yes, everyone has the right to protest and the right to free speech in this country. i think that hate speech is a different thick. i'm not personally interested in interacting with trump supporters. >> their goal is to disrupt the inauguration from the outside and inside the perimeter. activists will march from malcolm x park, logan circle heading to mcpherson square. while 12 groups of up to 100 protesters each will block security check points leading to the swearing in ceremony and inaugural parade. this is not their first protest. >> as an activist under bush you felt like you were screaming into a void. this could be worse. >> are you scared? >> if we back down because the right is scary then we've already lost. so despite the threats, despite you know fears for our safety and for the safety of our friends and allies, we believe that this is the important work that needs to be done right now. >> and we should tell you the protesters dispute claims and reports that they are planning for violence even setting off a stink bomb at the ball tomorrow night at the national press club. they say they will remain peaceful. they even have some deescalation teams on hand to make sure things stay that way. delia goncalves, wusa9. >> thank you. and protesters will be hosting what they call a dance party at vice president mike pence's home tonight and several flash mobs at all of the inaugural balls. metro announced it will open at 5:00 a.m. on saturday for people going to the women's march on washington. trains will be added to accommodate all the people expected. some parents are conflicted about whether that bring their children. they're concerned about safety given >> the climate is so volatile right now. especially after the election like so many people are on so many different sides and we're so separated. but i worry. >> am i going to be alert and aware and try to have some kind of plan? for light rain and showers. really for nuisance kind of a situation. 44, 10:00. maybe a sprinkle. certainly by 12 noon we have light rain and showers. 47. 2:00, we still have light rain and showers. only 49. no umbrellas in secure areas. we'll come back. we'll talk about the forecast for the women's march. look ahead through the weekend. the widow of the orlando nightclub shooter has pleaded not guilty to all charges. noor salman appeared for a hearing in oakland, california. she's charged with aiding her husband's support of isis and hindering the investigation of the shooting rampage. omar mateen killed 49 people and wounded dozens more last summer at the pulse nightclub. he died during a shootout. >> news of noor salman's arrest came out on monday. one online magazine po but they made one big mistake. instead of posting a picture of omar mateen's wife, noor salman, they posted a picture of a former wusa9 intern. identifying her incorrectly as the suspect. and noor tells us she found out about the picture on twitter. she immediately alerted raw story to the error and within a few hours it was taken down. >> i kept thinking this isn't about me. this is about the principle of the matter. this is something that happens to muslim women all the time. not in the sense that their pictures are misused, but in the fact your stereotypes based on how you look. >> raw story replaced her picture with the picture of omar mateen and posted an editor's note acknowledging the mistake below it. noor would like to see a full retraction. >> you think? between them for just a moment as vivian marrow. she's that 68-year-old grandmother who neighbors called the candy woman. as the killer keeps his target, the grandma crumbles to the ground behind them. it's fuzzy. we did that intentionally. this was just after 10:00 a.m. monday morning on alvins road. the shooters face is fuzzy. if you recognize his stance, the way he runs, anything that might help police, give them a call. >> absolutely. a dc family is demanding answers tonight. they still haven't been able to talk to the teacher there when a 3-year-old choked to death yesterday. the family was told sterling moore jr. choked on a meatball while attending day care inside the department of labor building. after cpr was unsuccessful. he was rushed to the hop. >> you paying money for a day care that can't watch a child while you're eating? i don't even know who teacher is 3-year-old. he's an angel. didn't bother nobody. didn't deserve that he didn't deserve it. >> the day care spokesperson released a statement offering their condolences and said their trained staff immediately called 911 to perform the heimlich maneuver and cpr but would not answer other questions. >> there is backlash at a dallas area restaurant. the owner posted a facebook message. it was designed to bring in a crowd. >> the message wasn't well received. it sparked complaints about racism. >> how are you?
