inauguration because of president elect trump's feud with congressman john lewis. louis challenge it had legitimacy of a trump presidency because of russian interference. mr. trump fired back secretary of interior. he resended his support of fossil fuel development and the keystone pipeline. senators also questioned betsy duvos. the women's march is four days away, and thousands are making their way into the district to prepare. several local businesses are opening their doorses for out of towners. there are also other businesses like this one where they are not only selling merchandise they've created a place for people to hang out women's march. >> so many people are coming in and just want a hug. or people have said can i sit on your couch and cry a little bit. >> we are strong together. and we are going to stand up for our rights and now this administration is not going to be able to roll over. >> hundreds of thousands of participants are expected for the women's march. many of them will be holding sign making parties over the next several days. >> during his last days in office, president obama is shortening the prison sentences of 209 inmates. they include chelsea manning the former army intelligence officer that linked classified documents to wiki leaks. she's six years into a 30 years sentence. that sentence now set to expire in april. >> he's also parredening retired general pled guilty in classified information leaked to journalist. the wife of omar mateen charged with aiding and abetting her husband. >> she spoke quietly and politely as she appeared before a federal judge in oakland, california. the 30-year-old widow of the orlando nightclub gunman is charged with obstruction of justice and aiding and abetting omar mateen who killed 39 people before dying in a shoot out with police last june. that i long suspected she played a role in the worst mass shooting in u.s. history. they say she bought ammunition with her husband and they believe she drove him as he cased the pulse nightclub prior to the shooting. she was arrested monday near san francisco. >> she's an innocent person who won't hurt a fly. >> her uncle said media reports distorting the with her husband. >> she texts him, he responds. he said don't you see the news, she tells him no. he says i love you babe and hangs up. that's all she knows. >> she's been interviewed by the fbi multiple times and has taken a polygraph test. sources say she was with her husband during a surveillance trip to disney world. which investigators believe may have also been a potential target. mateen was physically and mentally abuse, her uncle says. >> he's abusive. that's what she all knows of. he's abusive and controlling person. >> prosecutors plan to try the case in orlando. >> she'll appear in court again tomorrow. she's expected to be appointed a lawyer. and she will find out about her transfer back to florida. authorities in turkey say the suspect in the istanbul nightclub attack has confessed. they say the man is in in afghanistan and carried out the shootings for isis. turkish police arrested him yesterday at an istanbul apartment complex. 39 people were killed and many others wounded in that new year's eve attack. a federal judge today ordered the accused florida airport shooter held without bond. esteban santiago is charged with killing five people and injuring others at fort lauderdale international airport. santiago said he was under government mind control and claimed to be inspired by isis. he has yet to enter a plea but he could identified tonight. police say the incident began around 3:00 p.m. after two brothers were shot. they drove themselves to the hospital where officers arrived. police say he was armed with a knife and refused to surrender, then set the house on fire. police fired a rubber bullet at him and tried to tase him. when neither worked they then shot him. >> three police officers were hit by vehicles on the beltway and i-270 in maryland today. those officers were struck after an incident on the ramp from route 28 to southbound 270 in rockville around noon. they were trying to help someone after a minor crash when another car rounded the bend and hit one of the police vehicles. all three of the officers were taken to the hospital. luckily none of the injuries were serious. a controversial painting that depicts police officers as pigs has been removed from a display on capitol hill. the painting was inspired by the deadly hello l police shooting of michael brown in ferguson, missouri. it was among hundreds of paintings displayed by students leading to the capitol. members of the congressional black caucus said the painting speaks to the fear and anger of the young african american who painted it. but members of congress and law enforcement called it an insult. >> a case closed involving two missing children allegedly kidnapped by their mother. thanks to a tip they found and
