become increasingly common here the last two months. we've had about half a dozen, close to a dozen of these informative meetings and each one has been more important and more telling than the one before, but tonight's could be the most important one for these homeowners as they could find out whether or not the county found the money it needed to fix the landslides, the rest of the money i should say, or if the county has to buy out homeowners or another option not laid out in the past, a new option altogether. this began about two months ago when according to an engineering report by the county heavy rainfall triggered a slow moving landslide on piscataway drive. some homeowners question. ed whether it was due to rain or county negligence. either way more than two dozen houses have been impacted, six houses deemed unliveable and directly threatened by the landslide and 22 other houses unsafe because sewer and water was temporarily disconnected from the neighborhood. the engineering firm has determined it would cost about $22 million to stablize the ground and it would take several more months to fix the properties. the county can spare no more than $11 million. they've turned to state and federal agencies for the rest, the other $11 million, but they've hinted in the past it would be unlikely for either feds or state to foot the remainder of the bill. homeowners at this point say they just want an answer, whether the county fixes the properties at no cost to them or they buy them out. either way they just want an answer. they want to get back in their houses. they'll find out their fate in about an hour. montgomery the company police need your help to bring this silver spring teen home, 15-year-old theresa pacheco last seen june 28th near the
